Chapter 25
On the tombstone was my mom’s old photo. She was looking at me with a smile.
I squatted, stroked the tombstone, and said, “Mom, how are you up there?
miss you so much.
“I fell for another man and may get together with him soon…”
It was surprising that I should fall asleep there.
The next day, I agreed to be Colin’s girlfriend.
He took me to meet his parents.
When his parents knew that I was an orphan, they got nicer to me than they already were.
I thought Colin would be the love of my life.
As for Antonio, what he had done to Gatlin was so awful that the press reported it. So he was sentenced to 20 years in jail.
After he went to jail, he kept demanding to see me.
The 10th time I got a call from the prison; I decided to end this and agreed.
Antonio sat across from me, his hair already cut short. Judging from the wounds on his face, I could tell he was having a hard time.

He looked at me with affection and begged, “Grace, can your come see me more? I’m lonely here.”
“No. I don’t think I’ll see you again.” I refused.
He was anxious. “Why? It’s just a little mistake, and I’m in jail for that. Why can’t you forgive me?”
I reminded him, “Leila is your wife, so it doesn’t matter if I forgive you. Besides, you’re here because you killed Gatlin, not anything else.”
Antonio burst out crying. “Grace, I regret getting together with Leila. Would things be different if I hadn’t cheated on you?”
I felt nothing seeing his tears.
I responded, “No one can turn the clock back. Even if someone could, we would still part ways since you’re such a lousy person.”
“No, we wouldn’t!” he denied.
I was emotionless.
“Is there anything else? I’m going if not. My fiancé is waiting for me outside,” I said as I got up.
Antonio paused before shouting, “You’re engaged? Didn’t you say you’d marry no one but me?”
I laughed. “Seriously? Look at yourself. Why would I marry a piece of trash?”
“Your love for me disappeared…” he seemed to be in despair.

“It disappeared a long time ago. Bye.” I turned around and left.
He broke down and yelled, but I didn’t bother to look back.
Antonio, goodbye forever.
