“Is this really the Turner family’s long–lost daughter? She’s absolutely stunning.” A business partner exclaimed, genuinely captivated, his eyes fixed on the beautiful pair standing in the center of the living room.
“I thought Brooke’s adopted daughter was gorgeous, but her biological daughter is even more beautiful, with her mother’s grace in her youth.”
“Yes, after all these years, they’ve finally found their daughter, and she seems to find a handsome and capable man, I’m genuinely happy for Brooke,” a friend of Brooke’s chimed in, her face beaming with delight.
“It’s such a pity she already has a fiancé. Otherwise, my son can have a chance to be with her,” a lady from the Rowse family interjected.
“Don’t get your hopes up. Her fiancé is the heir of the Snider family, and as for your son, well, that’s still up in the air,” another socialite interrupted.
Calvin Rowse sat nearby, his gaze intently fixed on Ash on stage. She was indeed beautiful, but there was a strong sense of familiarity that gnawed at him.
Calvin thought, ‘Where have I seen her before?‘
At that moment, Jade, sitting next to him, overheard the chatter and looked at the men and ladies who had always praised her. Now, their compliments were directed at Ash.
She clenched her fists, feeling a wave of discomfort.
As the two of them made their formal appearance in front of the guests, Jade understood all too well that her chances with Calvert were slipping away.
Besides the obvious fact that they couldn’t be together, Jade also needed to start preparing alternative options for herself.
Jade carefully scanned the attendees, her gaze landing on the other three prominent families. As far as she knew, apart from her brothers, the others also had unmarried young men of similar age.
The Snider family had already declared Calvert as their heir, so he was out of the picture. That left the Rowse family and the Shelton family.
Among the Rowse family, three stood out: Luke, Calvin, and Baz. The others were either married or incompetent, so they were not worth considering.
For the Shelton family, there were only two options: Caden and Eliot. Unfortunately, the Shelton family had no fixed rules regarding heirs. It was always the most capable individual. Currently, the most impressive figure in the business world seemed to be Alisha Shelton, the female descendant of the Shelton family.
Neither of these families had solidified their heirs, leaving plenty of room for possibilities.
Jade lowered her head, her mood worsening. Originally, she could have been the future hostess of the Snider family, but with Ash’s appearance, everything had changed.
Jade was upset at the sight of the two seemingly intimate figures on stage. But with her parents and several brothers present, she had to muster her composure and deal with the situation.
Once the Turner family finished their introductions, Calvert and Ash were immediately swarmed by admirers.
Calvert wore a serious expression, exuding an air of “don’t approach me.” Many who wanted to speak to him were put off by his cold demeanor and ultimately stayed away.
In contrast, Ash couldn’t outright reject the guests. These were acquaintances of her parents.

She wore a gentle smile, gracefully handling the scrutiny and greetings from the elders, responding with courtesy and confidence. She perfectly embodied the demeanor of a refined young lady.
Watching Ash engaging with the older guests, Calvert felt a mix of emotions. He thought, ‘Just how many sides did this.

It seemed she could always astonish him anew, leaving him questioning which version of her was the true one, drawing him. in to explore further.
Just then, Jade stood up. “Thank you all for coming to this evening’s banquet. I’d like to share a violin performance to liven. things up.”
In her flowing white dress, Jade appeared delicate and poised, exuding elegance that left no room for criticism.
Brooke frowned slightly. Before Ash came back, she had poured all her energy into raising Jade. Jade had learned everything -music, manners, horseback riding, and more..
Previously, during banquets, as the only heiress of the Turner family, Jade was often brought out to showcase her talents.
But now that Ash was back, Jade’s action felt a bit like stealing the spotlight at today’s banquet.
Jade knew that by stepping forward now, she might disappoint her parents, but she felt she had no choice. If this continued, everyone would only remember Ash as the heiress of the Turner family, forgetting about her. She absolutely could not allow that to happen.
As applause filled the room, she took out her violin, executing her prepared piece with impeccable technique.
Ash glanced over. The piece Jade chose was a challenging one, a Schubert Fantasia in C major, originally composed for violin and piano, but she opted to perform it solo.
It was clear that the Turner family had put a lot of resources into her. Although Jade kept a steady and graceful posture during her performance, the pressure of being watched made her right arm tremble slightly at times, which threw off the flow of the music.
Additionally, her focus on mere technical performance rather than the nuances and transitions made the music feel somewhat monotonous.
However, to the untrained ear, these details were nearly imperceptible.
Ash looked away, feeling a bit disappointed. In an average family, this level of performance might be understandable. But with the Turner family’s top–tier resources, including private lessons from a world–famous violinist, it seemed unacceptable.
After the performance, people started praising Jade. “She may not be as breathtaking as the last one, but her artistic talent is something to admire.”
“Absolutely, with that level of talent, she could shine brightly in the entertainment industry.”
Hearing these remarks, Jade lifted her head, a surge of pride swelling within her. All her efforts to please Brooke by practicing the violin had paid off.
She couldn’t wait to see just how embarrassed Ash would be shortly.
Calvin listened to the comments, a hint of disdain flickering in his eyes.
“Calvin, was her performance really that bad?” Baz asked curiously.
“Only people like these would mistake a fool for a genius. With such top–notch resources, this is merely average,” Calvin replied, sounding rather bored.

“What a shame. You’ve always had a taste for beautiful music. I thought you might enjoy this, but it seems she didn’t meet your standards,” Baz said, pulling his gaze away.

At that moment, Vania, sitting next to Jade, slowly stood up. “I heard Calvert’s fiancée is quite talented too. Would anyone be interested in a little showcase?”
As she spoke, she clapped first, casting a provocative glance toward Ash’s direction.
This was followed by a resounding wave of applause.
