Calvert fell silent. Even now, Ash seemed unfazed, and he realized just how clever she truly was. He had believed her kindness toward his grandma was genuine and had planned to treat her better in the future. However, it was becoming clear to him that she didn’t deserve that.
Ash felt a surge of anger rising within her. Although Calvert remained quiet, she could sense his disdain clearly. ‘Does everyone in the Snider family lack the courage to voice their thoughts? Do they have no ability to communicate? If you have a problem with me, you should just say it outright! she thought.
After a moment of silence, Calvert finally spoke, his voice icy. “Make sure you take care of your past mistakes. At least for this year, keep Grandma in the dark.”
“What mistakes?” Ash replied, confusion washing over her. While she had dated someone, that was long over. As for anything else, either it was too well hidden, or there was nothing embarrassing to uncover.
“Do you really want to make things difficult for both of us?” Calvert’s tone turned even colder. “I didn’t expect you to be such a skilled actress. I definitely underestimated you.” With that, he instructed the driver to take Ash home and stepped out of the car.
Left sitting in the car, Ash couldn’t help but laugh in frustration. ‘Fine, no one’s telling me the truth, huh? I’d figure this out for myself!‘ she vowed inwardly.
Ash asked the driver to change direction, intending to find Bailey. Just then, her phone buzzed.
“Boss! We have a huge order today. All the limited editions are sold out!” Bailey’s excited voice rang through. “You need to draw some more designs quickly. The store is completely out of stock.”
Hearing the good news brightened Ash’s mood a bit. “Close the store for a couple of days and give everyone a paid vacation.”
“You’re the best, boss!” Bailey exclaimed. “After working so hard, the bonuses total over 50 thousand dollars. Are you free? I’ll take you out for dinner!”
Ash had something she wanted to discuss, so she agreed. They planned to meet at a bar.
In a dimly lit corner of the bar, Ash sat calmly, her stunning beauty drawing many glances, but nobody dared approach her. In front of her lay a clear warning against making any wrong moves.
Bailey entered and took a seat beside her. “Are you feeling down, boss?”
“Yeah,” Ash replied, nodding with a cold expression. “I just ran into a fool.”
Bailey quickly picked up on Ash’s mood, concern etching her face. “What happened? Is the Turner family treating you badly?”
Instead of answering directly, Ash asked, “Do you think I’ve done something wrong recently?”
“No, you’ve been fine,” Bailey replied. “But you really need to hurry and draw those designs; the store is out of stock.”
‘Well… Ash rubbed her forehead in frustration. Life with the Turner family was surprisingly easy. She no longer needed to deal with the Moreno and Ford families, and her pocket money was decent. It was clear she had grown a bit lazy.
But Ash wondered what was up with Calvert and Vania and their attitude toward her. She couldn’t figure it out, so she decided to let it slide.
“I’ll start drawing as soon as I get home tonight,” Ash said. All the design drafts at Dream Couture were created and refined by her alone before being sent to the factory for production, where other designers would handle the sewing. She had picked up designing on a whim, never expecting it to take off, leading her to open the shop.

“Hou, are you full? Bailey asked eagerly
Ash looked up, her expression asking. “What’s up?”
After you eat, you need to hurry hack and work on those designs. Otherwise, we won’t be able to open the shop in the next few days,” Hailey reminded her.
What could she do when her staff was putting in more effort than the was? Ash could only ned in agreement.
At the Turner family home, Jade reached the doorway and noticed movers busily carrying items inside. Rows of dresses and bags were being moved in as if on a conveyor belt. She glanced at the tags and realized they were all from the high–end brand Dream Couture. The total cost must have easily exceeded 30 million dollars.
She wondered if her parents were having everything from the store brought home so they could pick what they liked.
Feeling a surge of happiness, Jade remembered a beautiful dress she had seen in the store last time but hadn’t had the chance to buy. Light on her feet, she walked into the living room.
Jade, you’re back,” Brooke said in a neutral tone. After everything that had happened, she had developed a bias against her daughter. They hadn’t adopted Jade just to create trouble for Ash.
Even though Jade still lived with them, Brooke’s attitude had changed, and it would never be the same again.
Jade’s smile froze. Before she could say anything, Brooke continued, “Move all these clothes to Ash’s room. There must be something she likes.”
Josh chimed in, “Our precious daughter can’t possibly have nothing to wear. If she needs more, we can always buy more!”
Jade stood there, stunned, staring at the rows of dresses crowding the living room. Her parents had never been this generous with her. She wanted to know if it was just because she wasn’t their biological child.
Jade forced a polite smile and said, “When Ash sees all these clothes, she will definitely be happy.”
Brooke’s expression softened slightly when she heard this. “Yes, Jade, don’t take it the wrong way. We don’t know how much she has suffered outside all these years. I just want to make it up to her.”
“No worries. I won’t. They are always meant for her anyway,” Jade replied naturally, jealousy nowhere in sight.
Brooke nodded. “I’m glad you understand. We won’t treat you unfairly.”
“Thank you, Mom,” Jade replied sweetly. “I’m going upstairs to read the script now.”
As soon as Jade was back in her room, her expression darkened. Just as she had feared, ever since Ash returned, everything in the house seemed to belong to her. If this continued, Jade wouldn’t have a place to call her own.
Jade placed the painting she had taken on the table, her resolve hardening. She had to fight back.
When Ash got home, Brooke greeted her with a warm smile. “Ash, come check the clothes Dad and I bought for you. Do any of them catch your eye?”
Looking at the rows of clothes that had once filled the store, Ash felt a slight smile tugging at her lips. So, her parents were the big clients who had bought out the entire stock. And all the design drafts she had worked so hard on were now piled up
in her room.
For a moment, Ash didn’t know whether to admire her parents‘ generosity or feel sorry for her own efforts.
Noticing Ash’s silence, Brooke asked with concern, “What’s wrong? Don’t you like them?”
“I love them all,” Ash replied quickly. “You bought so many. Did you get a discount?”

Brooke realized Ash was worried about the cost. “Big brands usually don’t have discounts, but don’t worry! No matter how many you want, your dad and I can afford it!”
