Chapter 89
[MIROSLAVI
The Asmoria borders were dangerous; not because of their king or their people, but because most of the people who came to the Asmoria border never made it out. Some of them either died while trying to escape back into their friend’s lives while others starved themselves to death in the name of staying loyal to their wonders. Others suffered and went through all the stages of torture and died of torture, while most of them never lived to see the next sunlight. They were those who were sentenced to hard labor in the deepest and darkest parts of a kingdom so huge.
There were tunnels beneath the Asmoria dungeons where the prisoners were forced to clean or sharpen weapons. Of course, it was tempting to try and use the weapons to free themselves but then there was only one problem. The Asmoria tunnels were endless and not even a hundred years would ever be enough for someone to even try and master them if they weren’t born into the kingdom itself. The entire kingdom had underground tunnels running beneath it, and the prisoners were always forced to forget the aspects of Asmoria the moment they graduated to hard labor because someone had to make sure they stayed in line. It was a damned job for many, leaving their freedoms to come and risk living in the dungeons till their lives ended.
It wasn’t the kind of fate that anyone would look forward to. This was why the king was sure the bastards at the gate had to either be stupid or they were the people whose lives weren’t important to their leaders wherever they were from. It was a cruel reality but King Miroslav Ibrahimovich was way past being the kind king. Many who had long understood that stopped trying to screw up because no one ever left the Asmoria dungeons alive, until Drescher. But he had left because the king had wanted him to. That was way too different.
“Your majesty,” Kara greeted and the Lycan king looked at her as if to ask what she was doing out here instead of being with his queen. Kara was the only high guard he trusted with the life of his queen, even though all the high guards were sworn to serve the Lycan queen. The king was worried there were spies in the kingdom and if his queen was out there alone, there were high chances that trouble would find her and that would defeat the entire purpose of not letting her feel alone regardless of what happened along the way.
“Kara,” the Lycan king said, his voice stiff and Kara knew she had to explain herself before the king thought she was one of the traitors too. It was not what she wanted, because serving the crown was the one thing she had been born for, trained for, believed in, and yearned for, and even to this point, she was just glad she was serving the Asmoria crown. It didn’t matter who sat on the throne as long as they were someone whom the people of Asmoria would love to have as their king anyway.
“My king… I was commanded by the queen to come and help with this. She said and I quote, “Tell him I sent you since I am not in a position to come there myself. Keep him safe, even if you have to give up your life for him. If he asks about me, tell him I have forty–nine high guards to keep me safe. That is what Queen Ralphine said, Your Highness,” Kara said and Miroslav stared at the warrior before he began smiling sheepishly to himself, making Heion, Viktor, Kara, and the other people around them stare at the king like he had lost his mind.
Then again, he had a queen who cared about him and his safety. She was loving and he couldn’t have asked for more in a woman. She cared for him so much you would think he wasn’t as powerful, but then that was the beauty of it all. Being so powerful and still having someone to check on him. Someone to make sure he was alright no matter how winnable the battle was. Someone to make sure his battle wounds were treated with utmost care and urgency. She loved him and here sh was, lost in his own thoughts of the beautiful woman he was blessed to have for a mate.
Oh, King Miroslav was whipped for his queen and there was no denying it. No matter what happened, he would always be the changed king, and frankly, as disturbing as it was to see him smiling sheepishly, his friends were glad he was smiling.
“My King-” Kara began and the king just walked past her, with a smile on his face as he walked over to where the intruders were. They had never seen the Lycan king smiling and frankly, they couldn’t be blamed for this. They had never imagined was possible, so their reactions were valid, however questionable their actions were. The king was humane, or so they hope for heaven as he walked towards them like this was the best of things that he had heard from his warrior.
“I’ll be careful… tell her that when you see her later okay? And you can talk to Hei and Viktor on whatever responsibilities you need to help with the Lycan king said as he studied the intruders. He looked happy even if it wasn’t with them and he couldn’t deny that his queen had just put him in a better mood than he had earlier. Perhaps this right here was the right time for him to enjoy the state the kingdom was in, yeah?

again, perhaps
“Yes, Your Highness. Ka responded, not sure what she was supposed to say to that. She had seen the king change so this Want as suprising, but still, it made her curious to know what the fuck was happening with her King. Th love made people happier than they could ever know, right? Perhaps life was better if people had someone to go back home.
stay alive far right? Well, maybe that was i
“So, whose idea was it for you to come and try invading Asmoria that too when the queen was still within?” the Lycan king asked the intruders, his tone so cold and chilly and too different from the simple one he had used earlier.
Well, they had gotten himself into this predicament, right?
