Chapter 14
“Let’s go get some breakfast first, alright?” Julius sounded like he was asking for Whitney’s opinion, but he was clearly leading her towards the dining table.
“Sure. Whitney was now willing to listen to everything Julius asked of her. She was trying to use her actions to give him a greater sense of security.
As usual, a bowl of porridge at the perfect temperature was placed at the seat where she normally saf
“Start with some porridge first. He still had not told her that there was something special about the porridge.
She figured that if she didn’t ask him about it, he was never going to tell her anything.
But she picked the bowl up and ate the porridge first anyway. However, the porridge tasted exceptionally odd today, perhaps because she knew that there were other supplements added to it
An idea hit her just then. She kept a mouthful of porridge in her mouth and beckoned Julius with her index finger while he was eating his breakfast.
He thought she wanted to tell him something, so he leaned over. But she kissed his lips instead and fed him the porridge in her mouth
Her actions didn’t anger him or cause any reaction. He looked at her quietly and waited to see what she was going to do next.
Julius, don’t you think the porridge tastes funny? She was trying to force him to tell her why he was always so insistent on making her eat this porridge every day.
Alarm bells went off in his head but he kept a calm expression og his face as he said, “Is that so? Perhaps the kitchen didn’t do a good job with the porridge today. I’ll let them know.”
It was really hard to make him express his concern for her after all.
Whitney realized she might have been too impatient. The honest communication she was hoping from him was going to

After breakfast, a designer and stylist came to the house to dress and style Whitney for the day since she was going to visit Julius‘ parents.
When she was ready to go, she noticed that Julius was speaking to a man she didn’t recognize.
As she drew closer, she realized from their conversation that this woman was actually the dietitian who had been planning her meals all this time.
“Did you add more supplements than usual to the porridge today? My wife complained that the porridge tasted strange,” “Mrs. Latreille has completed the first round of treatment and I’ve started the second round today. That’s probably why the porridge tastes different from before, the dietitian explained to Julius.
The dietitian thought that Julius would understand and let things be, but after Julius pondered this matter for half a minute, he said decisively, “Tell you what. Reduce the amount. I don’t want Whitney to be able to taste the difference.”
That was the first thing Whitney overheard when she walked closer to them.
“But Mr. Latreille, this treatment method is already not as effective as taking medication. If you lower the dosage…” The dietitian was really in a difficult position. The dosage was already quite low, to begin with, so, lowering it further wasn’t going to be effective at all.

“Then, Ill stops taking the pondge,” said Whitney from behind them
A panic instantly enveloped Julius‘ entire body as his back stiffened unnaturally and he didn’t even dare to turn to look at Whitney.
But the dietitian was facing Whitney and could tell from her expression that she wasn’t saying she hated the porridge. “Mrs. Latreille, what do you suggest then?”
“I’ll just take the medication directly then. Since Julius wasn’t go to talk about this at all, she had to take it up directly with the dietitian. Taking the medication directly would help her body to recover faster anyway.
If possible, she wanted to become strong enough to bear a child for Julius,
Not being able to have children with him in her previous life was one of her deepest regrets.
She could see that Julius was very tense and she didn’t want him to feel self–conscious because there was someone else around, so she smiled politely at the dietitian and said, “You can go back to what you were doing, we’ll discuss this with you again later.
After the dietitian took her leave, Whitney took hold of Julius hands and could feel him stiffen up.
“Aren’t you… aren’t you going to ask me why I want you to take medication?” He didn’t quite understand why Whitney had reacted so calmly. He had secretly slipped extra stuff into her food, so he expected her to get angry with him.
“Oh Alright then, let me ask you. Why do you want me on medication?” she asked.
When she spotted the shock and panic in his eyes, she burst out laughing. “You silly boy, of course, I know you’re doing this
my own good. I don’t care what you’re asking me to take. I know you mean well for me.”

He nodded and felt truly touched by her unconditional trust in lum, so he explained things to her, “When we first got
went for a health checkup and the doctor said that for some reason, your immune system was weak and so married, you your body was very prone to falling ill so I thought putting you on some supplements would help to recondition your body.”
“But I was afraid you would refuse medication, so… his voice trailed off and his cars turned red with embarrassment as if they were talking about something he was very shy about.
“Yeah, I get it. Taking medication will definitely help my body to recover faster.”
“But you have to continue with the diet,” he added.
“No problem!” she answered with a smile before looking at the time. “It’s time we left for your parents‘ place.”
In the car to the Latreilles, Eugene sat in the front passenger seat while Whitney and Julius sat at the back. The closer they were to their destination, the clammier Whitney’s hands felt.
This was the first time she was meeting his parents in this lifetime, so she was getting rather nervous. is sure his parents must have heard all about her outrageous behavior at home.

In her previous life, she was determined to leave Julius, so she didn’t care about the impression she had on his parents and both sides chose to just remain polite with one another.
But in this life, she wanted to continue living happily with Julius. She wasn’t sure if his parents would mind her behavior in the past.

Regardless of whether his parents accepted her or not, she was determined never to let go of Julius in this life. She had even thought through what sort of response she should give if his parents gave her a hard time
She had to make sure she left a good impression on them this time.
Her heightened nervousness didn’t gard. Julius wrappe his large and warın hand around her icy little hand and the warmth from his hand helped her feel
“Don’t be scared. My parents are both very good–natured and they just want to meet you Also, a few of my aunts and uncles nught be around too.” He gave her a heads–up so that she would be mentally prepared.
If his extended family was involved, then, today’s lunch had been planned in advance and wasn’t just decided spontaneously
In other words, this lunch must have existed in her previous life except that she clearly hadn’t turned up. How did Julius deal with that?
With that in mind, she decided to ask him, “If I didn’t agree to come today, what would you have done?”
He gripped her hand more tightly after hearing her question and replied very nonchalantly, “Then, I’d probably have gone alone.
While he was holding onto her hand, she could sense that although he had answered her question like it didn’t mean anything to him, he was actually feeling really nervous.
