Jennifer finally saw Easton’s cold face. Her eyes were filled with panic. She knew Easton was furious, extremely furious. Tears flowed down her face as she looked at Easton.
She said, “Easton, please help me. Are you really going to let your money go down the drain?”
“As long as you get Natalie to come out and apologize, admitting that she planned all of this and Maris to ruin me, then my name will be cleared.
“Easton, we’ve grown up together. You have to help me. Also, didn’t you promise to marry me once?”
Easton smiled with a mysterious expression. He said, “Jennifer, I said that because you claimed you saved me back then.”

“Natalie, are you looking for me?” Jennifer deliberately mentioned Natalie’s name.
Natalie started cursing right away, “Get lost, would you? Are you scared of disappearing if you don’t make a scene? Easton was taking care of you, fine. I gave him back to you ages ago. Now hurry up and take him away.
“What’s your point in sending me those photos and messages? If you’re capable, marry him! If you’re bold, have his kid!
“If you’ve got the guts, get a marriage certificate and show it off to me, maybe then I’d respect you a bit more. Stop sending me this garbage, it makes me sick to my stomach. You’re disgusting enough already, get lost!
“Don’t act like a tease in front of me; I’m not Easton. And by the way, you’ve sent me more than enough evidence. I won’t need any more, thanks. With what you’ve given me, I can claim half of Easton’s assets, thanks again!”
Jennifer felt like her face was burning with embarrassment.
After a rant and some cursing, Natalie hung up the phone without a second thought. Then she sent the screenshots of the photos and chat to Easton without delay.
She said: [Tell your precious darling to stop sending me this disgusting stuff. So that’s why your spirit was with her last night.]

Jennifer saw it, too. She was stunned by Natalie’s action. She suddenly looked at Easton.
Easton frowned and glanced at Jennifer. He asked, “Have you been sending Natalie these disgusting messages?”
“I…” Jennifer hesitated. Her face turned red. She wished she could tear Natalie to pieces. She said, “Easton, I’m trying to help you, hoping she’d leave you sooner.”
“And then?” Easton asked, his expression unreadable, his voice calm and detached.
Jennifer cried her heart out. She thought, ‘Isn’t it clear to him already?‘ She asked, “Easton, you promised to marry me. Why did you break your promise?”

Easton replied, “So why did you run? If you hadn’t, I would’ve married you. You gave up, so don’t regret it now.

Easton stood up and walked to the window. He looked out at the snowy weather and said coldly, “Jennifer, take care of yourself.”
Jennifer suddenly stood up. She stared at Easton’s indifferent back with a wave of fierce anger in her eyes. She thought, ‘Is Easton no longer willing to help me?‘
Jennifer knew Easton had changed, but she still wanted to hold on to him. She really regretted what she had done before. She said, “Easton, you said you’d protect me forever. Were those just empty words?”
She cried and questioned, “I said it was for special reasons. Your mom forced me to leave–I didn’t want to go, Easton. I never ran away, and it wasn’t because of your disability.
“Easton, if you don’t believe me, you can look into it, or ask your mom how I really left.”

Easton asked, “Then tell me why my mom doesn’t like you but only likes Natalie.” He kept his back to Jennifer, his expression as cold as ice.
Jennifer was at a loss. She had no idea why Charlotte didn’t like her.

Natalie was sipping soup as she put the call on speaker. She called out, “Murray.”
Murray replied, “Natalie, there’s something I can’t wrap my head around. You have a very high IQ. You’re rational, steady, and mature. What on earth did you see in Easton? Was it his thick–headed attitude or his stubborn nature?”
Natalie sensed someone behind her and quickly turned to find Easton standing there with a sullen look.
