Natalie couldn’t finish her words because she noticed Easton’s gaze was filled with anger, as if he could devour her. She chose to keep silent.
Seeing Easton’s angry expression, Natalie knew that his impulsive urge had subsided. She was safe.
She liked the man of integrity, who would have his first time like she did. She couldn’t just go with the flow like some people do. She had her own values.
Natalie couldn’t meet Easton’s eyes. His gaze was deep and mysterious, cold without any visible emotion.
Easton placed Natalie on the large bed, sneering, “Natalie, didn’t you say you loved me?” If she loved him, how could she not tell the man in Jennifer’s photos was not him?
Natalie was taken aback, wondering why Easton asked her this. She didn’t answer his question. Instead, she quickly slipped under the covers, pulling the blanket tightly around herself and eyeing Easton warily.
Watching her movements, Easton narrowed his eyes slightly. He said, “Natalie, are you worthy of saying you love me?”
Natalie’s heart ached deeply, tears brimming in her eyes. She said, “Yes, I used to love you. But my love was worn away gradually by your coldness, cruelty, and favoritism. I’ve said it countless times, and I don’t want to explain anymore.”
Easton looked at her closely and said, “Natalie, your so–called love is just an illusion. How could you not recognize the real me if you loved me?” After making his statement, he left Natalie’s room.
Natalie was utterly confused, wondering what Easton meant by his words. She scoffed, thinking, ‘Whatever he meant, the important thing is that I am safe now.‘
As soon as Easton walked out of the room, she jumped off the bed and quickly locked the door from the inside.
Hearing the click of the door being locked, Easton managed a slight smile. He thought, “This is my villa, I have spare keys for every door. Locking it is futile. He went back to the room next door to take a shower.
Natalie also headed to the bathroom to shower and get ready for bed. She didn’t plan to see Easton again tonight.
Thinking about tonight’s events, she felt thrilled. Wendy’s way of fighting back was remarkable.
