My Eight-Year Boyfriend 25

My Eight-Year Boyfriend 25

Chapter

Emily asked to meet with me

We were supposed to meet

It was unexpected, so I decided not to go

It’s

just one meeting, I need to talk to you about something important.”

Don’t you want to know what Alex did to you?”

Reply to my messages!”

I blocked her messages, keeping them for my own amusement. I always had a feeling she wouldn’t give up so easily

Who knows what kind of trouble she might cause

She pestered me for a few days, but when she saw I didn’t respond, she stopped harassing

To avoid Alex bothering me again, I moved back to my parentshouse

Surprisingly, Alex didn’t show up for two days straight. I thought maybe he had finally accepted his fate

But I still overestimated him

Early on the weekend, the yard was shaken by loud banging sounds

Through the security cameras, I saw it was Alex’s whole familyhim, his parents, his aunt, uncle, and cousinsgathering in front of the house. They could fill up two tables for a meal

Alex’s mom: Inlaws, I brought Alex to apologize to your daughter. I’ve already scolded him

everything he did wrong, please don’t be angry.”

Chapter

Her mom quietly nudged my dad to apologize, but gave a dismissive eye roll to the camera

This is supposed to be an apology

I immediately figured out their intentionthey came to pressure us

My dad immediately called the security and asked for some of our relatives to come over. We didn’t have as many people as they did, but we could hire some muscle

Before long, our backup arrived. A few big guys stood at the door, and Alex’s family immediately backed off

They stopped demanding to be fed and stood quietly at the door, waiting to be let in

Dad: Why are they even here after we’ve broken up? How can they think we’re not angry? As if we should apologize to them.”

Mom: Yeah, they must be eyeing our family’s wealth, thinking they can still get married

and live off us.”

I nodded in agreement. Leeching off us, but still acting all high and mighty, wanting to eat- for free and take our money. There’s no way it’s that easy.”

My mom spat, grumbling about kicking them out

I stopped her, took out the projector, and opened the door to let them in

As soon as the door opened, a crowd of people rushed in, and the loud crying of kids instantly gave me a headache

Alex’s mom: Why did it take so long to open the door? My grandson is starving!”

She was holding Alex’s brother’s kid and made it clear she was unhappy with how long we took to open the door

Alex’s brother dropped out of high school and went to work in a factory. A few years later, he came back with his pregnant girlfriend to get married. They couldn’t afford the bride priče, so Alex even tried to get me to pay

He said it would count as an advance on the dowry

Chapter

Luckily, I didn’t agree. If I gave the dowry early, why wouldn’t I give the bride price early

too

He tried to claim that his family was poor, and my family should take on more

responsibility

They blamed me for leaving late

Because of this, Alex’s family always resented me for not paying, but eventually, his brother

d get married

I’m guessing they used the tens of thousands of dollars they borrowed from me as the bride price

No wonder when I offered to visit his sick father, he wouldn’t let me

He claimed he was worried I wouldn’t be comfortable, but I naively thought he was

concerned about me

What a selfish family

Alex’s mom: Where’s the food? It’s almost noon. Inlaws, I’m not saying this to be rude, but

it’s not good to leave us hungry. If word gets out, your reputation will suffer.”

Her eyes kept shifting between me and the door

She’s saying my reputation is bad

Now I’m going to make sure your family’s reputation gets ruined

I turned on the projector, ready to judge them
