Daxton was immensely curious about Olivia. He couldn’t believe that two people with no blood relation could look so alike.
“Did your family ever tell you why they sent you to the countryside when you were so young?”
Olivia suppressed a smirk. What else could it be? To prevent my biological parents from finding me.
Olivia had always been curious about her true origins, but James had only briefly mentioned her biological parents in her previous life.
After being reborn, she had tried to find her biological parents and had even pulled up her birth records online.
However, the Carter family had apparently prepared well; Olivia’s birth certificate was long lost, and even her exact birthdate was fabricated by the Carters.
Beyond that, Olivia had investigated the prominent families that had dealings with the Carters over the years. She came up empty; none of those families had a girl around her age.

Daxton sensed Olivia’s dismissive attitude toward her own origins, suspecting she harbored resentment because her biological parents had abandoned her in the countryside. Seeing Olivia unwilling to discuss it further, he didn’t press. But his suspicions about her continued to mount.
However, these suspicions were not something Daxton felt comfortable discussing with Olivia.

“Didn’t your son have a daughter?”
Walden immediately became alert at the mention of his granddaughter.
“Why are you asking about her?”

“I remember when your granddaughter was born, wasn’t there an accident at the hospital? Many newborns were abducted. With so many infants taken, how do you know… the child you brought home later was really yours?”
The appearance of Olivia had nearly overturned Daxton’s understanding of the world.
The only possibility was that Olivia was the granddaughter of Casey.
Coincidentally, Casey’s granddaughter had indeed been lost for a while after birth, and… her age matched Olivia’s.
