“Holy crap!” Samson nearly fell out of his seat when he saw the ambiguous pose between the two.

Just as Sloane thought she had succeeded, a warm hand suddenly covered her eyes.
“Young lady, stop learning such nonsense,” Lucas said coolly, sounding completely clear–headed.

Samson pulled a strange face when he heard this. But after thinking about it, it made sense. Sloane was only eighteen, while they were already twenty–five. Compared to them, she was practically a kid.

rice!”
Sloane blinked innocently. “Then you’d better keep eating more salt.”
“You little brat…” Samson was so mad he stomped his foot, pretending he was about to grab Sloane by the collar. But a single cold glance from Lucas froze him in place.
He pouted and flopped back into his seat, grumbling, “Lucas, you’re playing favorites!”
Lucas ignored him and turned back to Sloane. “Has the Rivers family made arrangements for you to attend school?”
The sudden question caught Sloane off guard. She had not even thought about going to school since returning home. She shook her head blankly. “No.”
“Hmph, they pulled out all the stops to get Samantha into Stonebridge University back then,” Samson said with a snort, clearly taking Sloane’s side.
While Lucas was still in a coma, they had already investigated Sloane thoroughly, including all the shady secrets the Rivers family tried to hide.
Sloane, however, remained unfazed. She was already used to being treated like dirt, while Samantha, the adopted daughter, was treasured like a gein.
