Chapter 19
With the bomb timer down to its final two minutes, Alexander didn’t hesitate to sign the agreement.
While Victoria was checking the contract, David swiftly kicked the remote from her hand.
He immediately untied Olivia.
Sirens blared, but only thirty seconds remained.
At that critical moment, Alexander tackled Victoria to the ground.
“Hurry!
Get Olivia out!”
Natural rivals David and Alexander acted in perfect sync.
Both shared one goal–protecting Olivia,
David grabbed Olivia’s hand and bolted toward the exit.
They escaped the blast zone one second before detonation.
But Alexander and Victoria remained buried in the rubble.
Once safe, Olivia frantically checked David’s wounds.
Tears welled in her eyes, voice trembling with post–trauma fear: “I’m sorry for dragging you into this.”
When David charged into the factory, Olivia felt unprecedented terror.
Having lost one loved one already, she couldn’t bear repeating that agony.

Perhaps heaven heard her prayers–they’d survived.
David gently wiped her tears: “Olivia, this isn’t your fault. Don’t apologize.”

“Victoria and those who hurt you–they’re to blame. Never feel guilty for others‘ crimes.”
For three days, Olivia and David shuttled between hospitals and police
stations.
After case closure, Olivia returned to the precinct.
“Ms. Brown, the deceased Alexander listed you as emergency contact. Since we can’t reach his family, would you claim his remains?”
This time, Olivia felt neither rage nor sorrow.
She calmly claimed Alexander’s body and arranged a dignified funeral.
Let past loves and hatreds fade away now.
The wedding day arrived swiftly.
Seated before a vanity in the pre–booked hotel, Olivia gazed at her bridal reflection in the mirror.
Countless sleepless nights had birthed endless thoughts of surrender.
Yet she’d persevered through every one.
An inner voice had guided her: Be strong. Be brave. Find happiness.
So she’d endured for years.
Finally, joy had come.
“Olivia, ready?”

The door opened behind her. David stood there, eyes sparkling as they fixed on her.
His handsome face glowed with tender warmth.
“Olivia, you’re breathtaking.”
Blushing, Olivia teased: “Only today?”
David shook his head earnestly: “You’re always beautiful. But in this gown? Magnificent.”
“Seeing you marry me… it feels like my lifelong dream’s coming true.”
“Olivia, know this?
I’ve adored you since our first meeting.”
Looking at his sincere expression, Olivia felt part honey, part heartache, unable to stop recalling what David’s mother had said-
“Olivia, you and David have suffered so much along this journey.”
The bitterness had passed, and sweetness had come.
“Ready?”
David asked softly.
“You’re about to become my bride.”
Olivia gazed at this nervous man before her and placed her hand in his.
David smiled knowingly, leading her out by the hand.
The grand doors slowly opened as the couple walked out hand–in–hand.
Amid the cheers of the crowd, they exchanged rings; embraced; kissed.
