Chapter 16
When she saw who it was, Olivia’s face darkened, frowning: “Alexander?
What are you doing here?”
At this time, shouldn’t he be in the country preparing for his wedding with Victoria?
Why did he suddenly come looking for her here?
Before she could figure it out, Alexander grabbed her wrist abruptly, eager to pull her away.
“Olivia, don’t be scared. I’m taking you back home right now!”
Olivia wrenched her hand free, confused: “Alexander, what on earth are you doing?”
She walked over to David, asking with concern: “Are you okay?”
David smiled and shook his head. “I’m fine.”
With that, he turned to look at Alexander, his gaze hardening instantly: “Let me introduce myself. I’m David, Olivia’s fiancé.”
Long ago, David had investigated Alexander and found him to be a complete scumbag.
Half of Olivia’s life had been ruined by him.
Before he could avenge Olivia, Alexander had come to their door first.
Just as Alexander was about to respond to the provocation, Olivia cut off the exchange with a cold look.

She turned again to take David’s hand, her smile soft: “David, let’s go home.”
“I refuse!”
Alexander blocked the doorway like a rabid dog.
But when he met Olivia’s icy stare, he crumpled into abjectness, begging piteously: “Olivia, I know I was wrong. I went too far before. Can you forgive me?”
“I’m apologizing. Just name what you want, and I’ll give it to you!”
“Didn’t you always want to marry me?
Now I’m letting you!”
Alexander thought Olivia was just throwing a temporary fit.
As long as he apologized properly and sweet–talked her, they’d patch things up.
But he didn’t see a sliver of hope in her eyes only loathing sharp enough
to kill.
First, Olivia spoke gently to David: “David, let me handle this.”
Then, she spun around without hesitation and slapped Alexander across the face, immediately calling over guard to remove him.
Finally, she instructed the guards: “Remember this man. If he comes back, call the police to arrest him directly.”
She didn’t deign to say another word to him.
Let alone forgive.

“Olivia!
Olivia!”
Alexander watched helplessly as the woman he loved walked home holding another man’s hand, shouting himself hoarse without a single glance back.
Amidst thunder and lightning, a downpour began.

Alexander wandered the streets in a daze, everyone avoiding him like a madman.
When a passerby once approached to ask if he needed help, he not only refused but punched the person.
In the end, he was jailed for a month.
By the time he was released, he’d wasted away.
He turned on his phone only to find the internet flooded with news of Victoria’s miscarriage.
Watching the interview footage where Victoria sobbed hysterically, denouncing his crimes, Alexander felt elated
Back in the country, Victoria quickly tracked his location through his activity.
That very night, she flew to Vancouver.
Instead of going straight to Alexander, Victoria went directly to Olivia.
“Ten million, leave Alexander,”
A bank card was tossed before Olivia. Victoria didn’t even bother removing her sunglasses, arrogance radiating from her.
Chapter 16
Olivia stared at the card on the table and couldn’t help but laugh.
Victoria frowned, displeased. “What’s so funny?
Think ten million isn’t enough?
Or do you want more?”
The condescension mirrored Alexander’s perfectly.
Olivia sneered, “You and Alexander are truly a perfect match.”

Victoria missed the sarcasm entirely, assuming Olivia was dazzled by the money, her expression triumphant.
But the next moment, Olivia pushed the card back across the table, her voice detached. “Leave. Whether Alexander stays or goes isn’t my decision.”
Enraged by this, Victoria snapped, “Olivia!
Are you bragging about how hopelessly devoted Alexander is to you?”
“You’re just a mistress’s daughter! What right do you have to stand beside
Alexander-‘
Slap-
Before she could finish, Victoria was struck hard across the face.
A flicker of emotion finally surfaced in Olivia’s previously impassive eyes. “I told you. My mother was not a mistress.”
“If I hear you slander her again, I’ll sue you for defamation.”
With that, she grabbed her bag and turned to leave,
Fuming, Victoria snatched the scalding teapot from the table and hurled it

towards the back of Olivia’s head.
Just then, the café door burst open.
“Look out!”
David rushed forward, instinctively shielding Olivia in his arms.
A muffled cry of pain rang in Olivia’s ears. Her heart clenched as she frantically checked David for injuries.
But David was unharmed. The agonized scream had come from Alexander

Scalding water almost covered his face, streaming down his forehead and neck. The intense heat was enough to sear off a layer of skin
His features contorted in agony as he crumpled to the floor, writhing and howling in pain. Yet, his eyes remained fixed on Olivia, filled with desperate hope.
Alexander had even rehearsed words to comfort her. But he never received so much as a glance.
The Olivia who once gazed at him with pure adoration was now fussing over another man.
A crushing sense of defeat pierced his heart.
Alexander had to face the truth: Olivia truly no longer loved him.
