(Finding New Happiness) Chapter 4:“My Wedding
“Aren’t you here to give me the wedding invitation?” Daisy asked. “Why waste time with them? She had always disliked Bryce and Bella.“A third–rate actress who relies on hype, talking about her career? Please!”
Bella turned red, her face a mask of fury. Bryce, worried she might lose it, hurriedly helped her sit down.“Daisy, you’re not invited to my wedding.” He snatched the invitation from my hand. “All your friends need my approval for their invitations. I don’t want a bunch of random people crashing my big day and ruining my mood!”
Daisy shot back, “You!”
I shot a cold glare at the invitation in Bryce’s hand.
“Bryce, this is my wedding! You have no right to interfere!”
I rarely confront him with such a frosty demeanor.
The tension in the air left him momentarily speechless.
“What do you mean by that?”
Daisy seized on his words, suddenly realizing. “Your wedding?”
She burst into loud laughter.
Everyone in the restaurant turned to look.
“Your wedding?” Daisy’s eyes widened. “Bryce, do you really think you’re that special? Open your eyes and see…”
“Daisy!” Bella who had been quietly observing, suddenly panicked. She interrupted Daisy directly. She pulled Bryce away, putting on an innocent facade. “Bryce, there are too many people here. Whatever misunderstanding you have with Alice, talk later. I don’t want another scandal
He nodded, giving me a deep, meaningful look.“Alice, I thought you’d learned your lesson these past six months. But you’re still acting childish! Fine, whenever you figure things out, we can go get that marriage certificate together. It won’t be too late! He swept Bella away.
“Is he nuts?” Daisy raged. “That man? You were head–over–heels for him?”
I chuckled bitterly.“I know, right?” That man almost cost me my life.
“Okay, I’ll write you a new invitation. Oh, your new seafood restaurant looks great. Do you want to open a branch? I’ll invest.”
