Chapter 49
Isabella looked at Samuel awkwardly and decided to explain. “I lost a bet, so I had to dance here.”
Leaning in closer, Isabella whispered in Samuel’s ear, “You didn’t want me to break my promise, right?”
Samuel caught a whiff of Isabella’s fragrance, and he momentarily froze. His eyes slightly narrowed as his gaze fell onto Isabella’s exposed slender waist.
In the light, Isabella’s waist was so slender.
Samuel frowned, took off his jacket, and draped it over Isabella. Isabella didn’t refuse; instead, she adjusted his coat around herself more comfortably.
Samuel’s eyes fell on her as he spoke calmly, “Since you’re here, I’ll introduce you to my friends.”
Isabella nodded and agreed and glanced toward where her friends were. “Wait a moment. Let me say hello to my friends.”
Samuel nodded in agreement.
Wrapped in Samuel’s jacket, Isabella walked over.
As soon as Isabella got to Mark and the group, they eagerly approached her, full of excitement and curiosity. “Bella, who’s that guy?”
Isabella instinctively glanced at Samuel, only to see him standing tall and still in the same place, clearly waiting for her. Isabella turned back and smiled, and she explained to her friends. “Just a friend.”
The others clearly didn’t believe it.
But they knew that Isabella didn’t want to say anything more.
Instead, this explanation added a touch of unclear ambiguity.
Isabella looked at Luna, gently took her hand, and said softly, “Luna, I have something to do, so I’ll leave now.”
Luna understood Isabella and gave her a knowing wink, smiling suggestively. “I get it. Have fun.”
Isabella playfully punched her shoulder and said, “Stop talking nonsense.”
Luna nodded eagerly. Although she had many questions for Isabella, now it wasn’t the right time. Luna thought they would have to meet up some other time.
Isabella waved and said to Jill and the others, “Have fun.”
Only then did Isabella walk over to Samuel.
Jayden watched Isabella’s back with a gloomy look. He thought, “Is Isabella trying so hard to distance herself from me today
because of Samuel?”
A few girls glanced at Jayden and whispered, “No wonder Bella said she wasn’t interested in Jayden, and she’s found someone better.”
One of the girls replied, “Totally! Just by looking at the man, you can tell he’s noble. Isabella is so good at choosing her boyfriend.”
All these whispers reached Jayden’s ears.
The way they looked at Jayden made it difficult for Jayden to maintain his composure.
After keeping a calm and gentle smile all night, Jayden finally lost his composure as the party was coming to an end.
Isabella followed Samuel into their private room.
As Isabella stepped in, Charles approached her with a big smile before Isabella could even sit down.

Charles said, “Welcome. My name’s Charles. What would you like to drink? I’ll get it for you.”
Before Isabella could speak, Charles brought over a fruit platter and placed it close to Isabella. Try this. If it doesn’t taste good, I’ll have the front desk send more.”
Charles had a smile on his face, but inside he was nervous. After all, it was his first time trying to impress such a beautiful girl.
Charles bustled around, constantly trying to win Isabella’s love.
Isabella remained indifferent to Charles‘ actions, offering a polite and distant smile as she said. “Thank you.”
Charles was disappointed, and he couldn’t help but think. Oh no, she’s an ice queen. What should I do now?”
Charles looked at Henry for help, but Henry just had a mysterious smile.
Charles was so anxious.
Charles glanced at the suit jacket Isabella was wearing. Even though nights in Draxenport required layering, the bar was warm
Wearing a jacket in here, Charles thought Isabella couldn’t put up with that.
Charles stepped forward and smiled warmly at Isabella. “It’s hot here. How about you take off your jacket?”
But just as Charles touched Isabella’s jacket, Samuel’s icy stare was fixed on Charles.
Startled, Charles stepped back, not daring to touch Isabella’s jacket again,
Samuel’s calm voice echoed. ‘She’s Samuel’s wife.”
Charles said, “What?”
Charles thought he must have misheard, his eyes widened in shock.
Charles glanced at Samuel who was serious.
At this moment, Isabella walked over to Samuel and sat next to him with a gentle smile.
Charles looked in disbelief at the couple sitting together, feeling like his world was falling apart.
Charles collapsed onto a stool, his face full of despair. “What? I haven’t even started dating and I’m already heartbroken?”
Charles thought, ‘Finally finding a girl I’m interested in, and she’s Samuel’s wife? I can’t handle this. Nobody will understand the pain.
Henry’s eyes twinkled with even more amusement.
It was only then that Charles realized. Charles stood up and quickly walked over to Henry, glaring at him. “Did you know this all along?”
Henry admitted it and mockingly said, “You are so dumb.”
Samuel was always aloof, so there was no way he would randomly cover a stranger woman with his jacket without a reason.
When Samuel saw Isabella, Henry immediately knew that Isabella was Samuel’s wife.
But clueless Charles was trying to win her over.
Charles buried his head in Henry’s arm and said, “I don’t want to see anyone again. I’m so embarrassed.”
Charles tried to impress Isabella right in front of Samuel.
Right now, Charles wished he could slap himself.
Henry extended his hand to push Charles away and said, “Go cry somewhere else.”
Everyone in the private room started introducing themselves.
Henry looked at Isabella and smiled. “Hi, I’m Henry.”

Isabella nodded slightly in response. “Hi, I’m Isabella.”
Isabella spoke calmly and wasn’t intimidated at all. Even when faced with the big names in the entertainment industry, she was confident.
Henry looked at Isabella and casually asked, “Isabella, what brings you here?”
Judging by Samuel’s reaction today, Henry guessed that Samuel had never seen her dance.
