Chapter 11
Xavier slightly moved his fingers, and the pain hit him immediately. It wasn’t as bad when he stayed still, but even the smallest movement triggered intense pain throughout his body.
However, he was surprised to find that the restlessness in his mind had eased quite a bit. The overwhelming craving for blood didn’t feel as strong anymore.
Slowly opening his eyes, Xavier glanced at Isabella, a bit shocked. He couldn’t believe that acupuncture alone had brought him
this much relief.
He’d tried acupuncture doctors before, but nothing had worked, which was why he had become so skeptical of these so–called famous physicians.
Sensing Isabella’s gaze, he cleared his throat and spoke in a hoarse voice, “It’s much better.
Isabella nodded knowingly. After waiting a bit longer, she stepped forward and carefully removed the silver needles from Xavier’s body, one by one.
By the time she finished, Xavier felt like he had been pulled out of water–his entire body drenched in sweat, leaving him sticky and uncomfortable.
Noticing his discomfort, Isabella advised, “You can’t bathe for now, no strenuous activity. If you feel hungry, stick to light, liquid food, and only a few bites at a time.”
Xavier nodded in agreement as he slowly leaned back. This feeling of lightness and ease was something his body hadn’t experienced in a long time. He looked at Isabella and said, “Thank you.” Though the words came out stiff, they carried genuine gratitude.
Isabella raised an eyebrow but didn’t respond. She was a little surprised–this man was actually softening up.
After packing up the needles, she made her way to the door.
The moment the door to the hospital room opened, Darryl and George rushed forward. Darryl, full of concern, asked Isabella, “How is it?”
Isabella gave a slight nod. Just as she was about to answer, she noticed two familiar figures. Jayden and Ivana were still standing there behind them. Isabella’s lips twitched in slight annoyance. These two are really sharneless. They hadn’t left yet?’
Turning back to Darryl, Isabella remained calm and said, “For now, it’s under control, but the treatment needs to continue. He can be discharged and rest at home. I’ll come by every three days for acupuncture, along with the medicine I’ll prescribe.”
Darryl, beaming with hope, eagerly asked, “So, he can be cured?”
Isabella gave a small nod.
George immediately stepped forward with a smile and casually patted Darryl on the shoulder. “Of course! Dr. Lovett’s reputation isn’t for nothing!”
His voice was full of confidence. Even Qin Heng was slightly surprised by George’s boldness. Though George was someone others in the industry wanted to be on good terms with, few would casually pat Darryl on the shoulder like that. It showed that he had guts.
But Darryl didn’t seem to notice. Instead, he visibly relaxed, as though a heavy weight had been lifted from him.

cyn reddened with emotion, and his voice was choked up as he said, “Dr. Lovett, thank you so much! You can ask for any reward you want, anything in this world, and I’ll get it for you!”
He had spent an enormous amount of money and energy trying to cure Xavier’s illness, searching for the best doctors around the world. Even if this was just temporary relief, it was still a ray of hope–those so–called renowned doctors before couldn’t even manage that much. Now, his son finally had a chance to be saved.
George was brimming with confidence. As long as Isabella was willing to take the case, there wasn’t a disease that could stump ber. That’s just how capable she was.
Ivana, unaware of the specifics, felt nothing but disdain. She couldn’t help but sarcastically remark to Isabella, “Isabella, how dare you talk like that! What if something happens to Xavier? How will you clean up the mess afterward?”

Isabella’s eyes narrowed. ‘Ivana is like a shadow that just won’t go away, she thought. Ivana, assuming Isabella was feeling guilty, quickly added, “You should apologize to Mr. Cox. He’s a generous man–he’ll forgive you.”
Jayden sighed lightly and stepped forward, his gaze resting on Isabella. He tried to persuade her, “Bella, we haven’t even seen how Xavier’s really doing yet. Don’t speak recklessly–it could delay his treatment”
He didn’t believe for a second that Isabella could actually cure Xavier. He thought, ‘After all, Isabella hasn’t studied medicine for years. How could she possibly handle something as complex as Xavier’s condition?”
“Come on, don’t make trouble. Just apologize to Mr. Cox, okay? And no more lies in the future.” Jayden softened his tone ast much as possible. He couldn’t let Isabella’s actions mess up his plans..
George, fuming at Jayden’s attitude, immediately stepped forward and shoved Jayden aside, snapping, “Who do you think you are? What gives you the right to tell her what to do?”
He was furious. Isabella had stepped away from the medical world for two whole years because of this idiot! Now, she was finally back in action, and this guy had the nerve to talk nonsense?‘ If it weren’t for the fact that Jayden had once been close to Isabella, George would have punched him already.
George added, “Do you even know who she is? The renowned Queenie Lovett! She doesn’t need your advice or interference. He thought, Does Jayden even realize Queenie Lovett’s status in the medical world?”
The name “Queenie Lovett hit Jayden and Ivana like a sledgehammer. They both stood there, utterly stunned and in disbelief.
Jayden was utterly shocked. “Queenie?”
He couldn’t believe that Isabella was the legendary healer Queenie Lovett, who had disappeared for three years. Before he had invited Carl, Jayden had even tried to contact Queenie himself, but she hadn’t responded at all, let alone shown up.
Ivana’s hand was trembling so much that she was practically crushing the fabric of her dress. Her entire body was shaking uncontrollably.
She thought, “So… Isabella is that person? The Dr. Lovett that Darryl mentioned? No! Isabella can’t possibly be that capable!
Ivana rugged at Jayden’s sleeve, forcing herself to remain calm, her voice shaky as she said, “Jayden, Isabella must be lying. right?”
George, however, let out a sarcastic laugh, his voice cold. “Are you two here to be funny? In a situation like this, are you seriously accusing her of lying? Looks to me like you don’t want Xavier to get better at all.”
Darryl’s gaze darkened immediately. Jayden frowned, quickly retorting, “Don’t make baseless accusations!”
Isabella suddenly laughed softly, drawing everyone’s attention. She calmly looked at Jayden, her tone light but pointed. “Oh, so
understand what baseless accusations are?”

From the moment they had met, all they had done was accuse her of causing trouble, demanding apologies. She thought “Now that George has turned the tables on them, they couldn’t take it?‘
George sneered as well. “If you aren’t trying to stop Xavier from recovering, then why have you beep–obstructing Queenie this whole time? The way you two work together is quite the clever little act!”
Ivana, feeling cornered by George’s words, instinctively hid behind Jayden, her frightened voice barely a whisper. “Jayden…”
But Jayden wasn’t paying attention to her at all. His eyes were fixed on Isabella, who stood tall and unbothered, his gaze filled with complex emotions.
Is she really Queenie? Even now, Jayden found it hard to believe. He thought, ‘Is this really the woman who had chased after me for ten long years?
But the truth was right in front of him. Darryl had addressed the man as Mr. Sampson and called Isabella Dr. Lovett.
And with a family as influential as the Coxes, there was no way they’d seek help from an ordinary doctor. He should have realized from the way Darryl treated Isabella.
A sudden surge of anger flared in Jayden’s chest as he looked at Isabella, demanding, “Why did you keep this from me?”
