Chapter 1
Isabella: [Jayden, if you’re not at the city hall by ten, we’re done.]
Isabella stared at her phone, her face pale. It had been two hours since she sent that message, and she’d been waiting outside the city hall for just as long.
But the message went unanswered.
It was now 9:50 AM. Only ten minutes left.
She had dressed up specially today. A white dress hugged her curves, showing off her perfect figure, and her delicate face was enhanced by flawless makeup.
Passersby couldn’t help but glance at her, and she could even hear some men yelping in pain as their wives or girlfriends pinched their cars for staring at her.
Isabella’s face grew paler by the second. Then, with a bitter smile, she muttered, ‘Of course,
he’s not coming.
She had loved Jayden for ten years, willing to do anything for him.
Isabella’s father had cheated on her mother when she was a kid. Already frail, her mom couldn’t handle the betrayal and passed away shortly after. Her father remarried soon, bringing home a new wife and a daughter.
Since then, Isabella had faced endless hardships. It was Jayden’s arrival in her life that had brought her warmth and hope.
She always thought they’d be together forever. But when she saw him flirting with her stepsister, her world crumbled.
After that, Jayden had ignored her for three months.
She had hoped it was just a misunderstanding, that he wasn’t talking to her because he thought she was overreacting. She told herself to give it one last shot, just in case things could be mended
That was why she had worked up the courage to send that message.
Isabella closed her eyes in despair. It had never been a misunderstanding; she’d just been lying to herself.
Suddenly, her phone rang. Her eyes snapped open and she saw that Jayden was calling. A glimmer of hope appeared in her eyes as she answered, “Jayden, are you here?”
She glanced around hopefully but saw no sign of him
“Isabella, it’s been three months. Haven’t you had enough?” His voice was cold, carrying the arrogance of someone used to being in control.
Isabella froze, feeling as if she had been plunged into ice.
Her grip on the phone tightened as her gaze turned hollow,
Jayden’s icy voice came again. “I’m at the peak of my career right now, with so many projects lined up. Do you know what getting married would mean to me at this moment?”
He was the prized son of the Logue family, with access to endless resources. His handsome looks and charisma had earned him legions of fans.
Tabella forced a smile, her face as pale as ever. “I guess I’m not good enough for you”
In the end, he didn’t want to get married. He had only stayed with her this long because she was useful to him.
Then there was nothing left for her to hope for.
Just as she was about to hang up, Jayden’s impatient voice came through again. “Isabella, take some time to reflect. Don’t pull this stunt again.”
Isabella suddenly laughed. “Reflect! You cheated on me, and now I’m the one who needs to reflect?”
“She’s your uster. I hope you stop making baseless accusations.” Jayden’s voice turned colder, and Isabella squeezed her eyes shut in despair. They had slept together, and he called it baseless.

Chapter 1
Jayden was a top actor, so they had never gone public with their relationship. Even when fans spotted them together, he would claim they were just friends.
His fans would flood her social media, telling her to stop trying to seduce him. Jayden had never said a word to defend her.
But when her stepsister, Ivana, was cursed, he’d be the first to clear things up on social media.
He had always protected Ivana instead of Isabella.
Isabella smirked. “Jayden, we’re done.”
This love came to an end
She hung up, but rage overwhelmed her. She was so dizzy that she collapsed.
Suddenly, a strong arm wrapped around her waist.
Her
eyes widened in shock. “Samuel?”
The man was dressed in a sleek suit, his chiseled features sharp and defined. He glanced at her, and his thin, sensual lips moved. “Miss, you should take better care of yourself.
With a calm demeanor, Samuel helped her to her feet and turned to leave. Isabella’s eyes flashed, and she called out, “Samuel
He stopped and looked at her, his gaze cold and distant. “What is it?”
Isabella clutched her purse, pulling herself together as she said, “Got time? Let’s get married.”
Samuel looked taken aback.
Isabella’s face flushed as red as a ripe apple.
He stared at her for a solid ten minutes.
Isabella, feeling embarrassed, lowered her head. She had no idea why she suddenly had the urge to propose to Samuel.
“I–L…” she stammered, taking a deep breath and looking away. “I know your family has been pushing you to get married too.
Samuel Howerton was the fourth son of the Howertons. He held all the power in the family. He had elevated the Howerton family to the top of the business world.
He was a man who commanded fear and respect, yet he was the dream man of countless women. With just a flick of his finger, the entire business world would shake.
His mother had been pressuring him to give her a grandchild for some time. Recently, she had even gone public, stating that he’d be married within six months.
But as soon as Isabella blurted that out, she panicked, looking at Samuel awkwardly. “S–sorry, I just had a moment of madness, I wasn’t thinking straight. Please, just pretend I didn’t say anything…
She was so flustered she could barely speak.
How had she dared to suggest marriage to him?!
As she was about to flee in embarrassment, Samuel suddenly grabbed her wrist.
Isabella was a little startled.
Was he angry because she had overstepped and now planned to punish her?
She suddenly recalled how badly things had ended for women who’d approached Samuel before.
For a moment, fabella thought her life was over.
She lowered her head, not daring to look at him, when she heard his deep, magnetic voice.
“Bring my birth certificate to the city hall”
Tabella froze, looking up at him in shock just as he hung up the phone and slipped it into his pocket,
