When everyone was waiting with disdain, Isabella scoffed and said, “Alright, I’ll take it.”
Emily’s eyes flickered with contempt. She thought, ‘As expected, newcomers are fearless. Many people can’t handle Mr. Smith’s tasks, not even the best ones. Yet, she accepted it
Emily looked at Isabella and said, “Fine, in three days, if you can’t present a design that satisfies Mr. Smith, pack your things and get out of the Stout Group.”
The way many people looked at Isabella became unusual. They thought, Isabella’s taking on too much. Pretending to be confident now will only make it worse when she fails.
It would be better to beg for forgiveness now; at least she can temporarily stay in the department. After all, with only three days, no one dares claim they can finish it. Not to mention, Isabella is just a terrible designer.
Ivana looked at Isabella with some hesitation and said softly, “Bella, you don’t have to do this.” But after that, she added,

Isabella ignored Ivana and Emily and turned to an empty seat in the office.

Ivana suppressed her anger, smiled gently at all the employees, and softly said, “Everyone, please get back to work.”
Everyone lowered their heads to focus on their work. Ivana gave Isabella one last deep look before heading to her private office. Emily followed right behind Ivana.
When the director’s office door closed, many people sneakily glanced at Isabella’s seat, whispering.
Someone said, “Isn’t it clear that Emily is deliberately keeping Isabella out of the company?”
Another person said, “Who knows? Maybe it’s a test from the higher–ups. People’s hearts are hard to predict.”
Another girl nodded in agreement and softly said, “When destiny gives someone a significant task, they must first endure hardships to strengthen their resolve.”
The others couldn’t help but giggle, all eagerly looking forward to what would happen in three days. They couldn’t help but wonder what the scene would be like in three days.
In the afternoon, in the Howerton Group, the spacious office wa gently filled with fresh air through the window, stirring the white curtains and spreading a subtle fragrance throughout the room.
Samuel, dressed in a sharp black suit, was making notes on the documents, his expression calm and composed.
Perry stood respectfully in front of the large, sturdy desk, placing the documents before Samuel, and said, “Mr. Howerton, these are the market share analysis data for this week.”

Perry nodded in response, “Yes.” He retrieved the document from the table and continued, “Mr. Howerton, Mrs. Howerton was troubled today at the Stout Group.”
Samuel’s sharp eyes suddenly looked up. Not daring to hesitate, Perry recounted the events at the Stout Group that afternoon. Samuel paused momentarily with the contract in his hand, saying nothing.
Perry was worried about what happened at the Stout Group and asked, “Mr. Howerton, should we look out for Mrs. Howerton?”
Perry thought that even though Isabella was Dr. Lovett, she probably didn’t have any job experience. And she even made such a big bet with Emily and Ivana.
But it was clear that Samuel’s hostility was fading as he calmly said, “No need
Perry was a bit taken aback. He thought, ‘Can Mrs. Howerton manage jewelry design?” He couldn’t shake off the unease about Isabella facing such a ruthless company.
Perry asked Samuel, “Mr. Howerton, do you trust Mrs. Howerton that much?” He wasn’t quite sure where Samuel’s confidence came from. Perry thought that Isabella didn’t know how to design jewelry at all. It was an inevitable losing bet.
Samuel set down the document and looked out the floor–to–ceiling window. He said thoughtfully, “No one should underestimate her. His thoughts seemed to wander far away, as if he was recalling the past.
Perry’s eyes showed a hint of surprise, but he felt that Samuel’s trust was influenced by his love, seeing through rose–colored glasses. He couldn’t help but feel anxious about Isabella for the next three days.
Three days later, the agreed time had come; it was time for Isabella to deliver the design. The design department office was bustling with people early this morning.
Almost everyone in the design department, whether on a business trip or not, was present, waiting to see if Isabella would be expelled from the company or if she could turn things around. But deep down, they knew Isabella would most likely be expelled
The main character, Isabella, sat calmly at her desk in a white dress, seemingly tuning out all the noises around her. Emily wore a red bodycon dress that made her look wonderful.
With a self–satisfied smile, Emily hummed a tune as she briskly walked toward the design department, holding a cup of coffee and swinging a limited–edition designer bag in the other.
Emily thought, “Today is the big day to declare Isabella’s downfall. If she gets kicked out of the company, it would be a significant achievement. Ivana would favor me even more. That is important because Ivana will be the future chairman
The more Emily thought about it, the more excited she got. Upon seeing Isabella at her desk, Emily immediately walked over and curled her lips into a mocking smile.
Emily said, “It’s not too late to own up to your mistakes now. Otherwise, getting fired later will be a huge embarrassment.”
Emily thought, “How can she still pretend to be so calm? Where does she get the nerve? Isn’t she probably scared out of her wits already?”
Isabella raised her head, her cold eyes sweeping over Emily as she said calmly, “Are you so sure I’m going to lose? What if 1 win? Aren’t you worried about losing face?”
Isabella thought, ‘She is indeed one of Ivana’s people–hopelessly foolish.

Emily thought, “No wonder Ivana doesn’t like Isabella. Even now, she’s still pretending. It makes people want to tear off her mask of pretense in frustration.’
Everyone fell silent, fully aware of the grudge between Isabella and Emily. They couldn’t understand why Isabella could be so proud. The Stout family didn’t even favor Isabella.
