Henry set down his glass of wine. In his eyes as captivating as bissoms, there was a touch of a mischievous smile. He hadn’t mei Luna before, but this encounter was revealing.
Henry was somewhat surprised She seemed to possess more then just simple directing skills.
Henry’s gaze fell on the script next to him. As he ran his fingers over it, he said quietly. “If you’re at the helm, I’ll invest”
A smule played on Lama’s lips. She knew Henry would certainly vest. No one could say no to money. It was in the nature of a businessman to want to make money.
She nodded slightly with a smile. “Alright, let’s find some time another day to get the contract sorted Now that there were both money and actress, it would be foolish not to take on this drama.
Seeing her agree so readily. Henry’s smile became even wider, “Okay. Don’t worry about the money. I won’t shortchange you.” And with that, the two sealed the deal. They had a pleasant conversation.
Isabella was busy at her office when there was a knock on the door.
Isabella looked up and said softly, “Come in.
The office door swung open, and George walked in with a big smile..
He came over and perched himself on Isabella’s desk, picking up the case file she was reading, “Want to grab dinner together tonight?”
Isabella didn’t even look up, responding, “Maybe another day. I need to finish reviewing these today.”
These case files were from some time
ago and were tricky to organize. She didn’t trust anyone else to handle them. George glanced at Isabella, who was working diligently, and asked with a bit of confusion, “You’re so young. But you’re always at work or at home. Why don’t you ever have any fun?* Sometimes, he thought Isabella lived like an old lady.
Isabella looked up at George and, with a casual glance, said, “Do you think everyone is like you, going to bars every day?” She lowered her head and continued reviewing the medical file in her hands.
George didn’t care about her words. He placed the case file in front of Isabella, got off the desk, and adjusted his clothes.
He turned to the glass wall in Isabella’s office, flicked his hair, and with a smug look said, “Fine. I’ve got a date tonight. Time to party.”
George’s carefree manner made Isabella rub her forehead in frustration. She sighed softly, “You should cut down on chasing girls all the time. Be careful with your health.”
George looked fea
and said, “It’s alright. With you around, you’ll get me back to health even if I’m worn out.” He walked over to Isabella with a smile, stood up straight, and said, “Besides, I’m just taking them out to dinner and for some drinks. It’s all very innocent.”
Isabella was surprised at the word “innocent“. She twitched her lips. She had never associated the word with George.
Before Isabella could say anything. George was already excitedly heading out the door. “Take your time with work. I’m off now.” At the door, George turned back and waved with a smile,
Isabella waved back at George. “Go on then.”
Chapter 114
As the office door shit, Isabella let out a long sigh of relief. Finally, there was peace and quiet. Now the could get her work done in peace.
Isabella got so busy that two hours flew by
When she finished her tasks, Isabella stood up and looked outside. The sky was gradually darkening.
Rubbing her slightly aching head, Isabella got up, slung her bag over her shoulder, grabbed her phone, and headed downstairs
As she walked into the lobby, Isabella saw from a distance that Xavier and Darryl were sitting on the sofa in the lounge area, flipping through magazines.
Xavier looked like the perfect business mogul in a dark gray suit with a deep burgundy tie, making him look even taller.
Darryl was in a casual baseball jacket. Although old, he had a surprisingly youthful look. Their striking appearance made many girls turn their heads as they sat in the lobby.
Isabella’s steps slowed down just as Darryl and Xavier noticed her coming down.
Both men put down their magazines and walked quickly over to Isabella.
With a big smile, Darryl stood in front of Isabella. “Ms. Stout, you cured Xavier’s illness, and we haven’t had the chance to thank you properly.”
His gaze moved past Xavier and finally rested on Isabella. In a gentle voice, he asked, “To show our gratitude, may we invite you to dinner tonight?”
Xavier hadn’t spoken, but his eyes were always on Isabella. They waited quietly for her answer.
Isabella looked at her watch: It was already half past seven. By now, Megan probably had dinner ready at home.
Smiling at Xavier and Darryl, she directly said, “Thanks, but that won’t be necessary.”
Darryl stepped forward with a smile, still respectful as he said, “We insist. It’s just a small token of our appreciation.” Isabella had done a huge favor for the Cox family. Inviting her for a meal was a minor gesture in comparison.
Today, Darryl had cleared all his work commitments just to invite Isabella for dinner.
Before Isabella could refuse again, Xavier glanced at her with a teasing smile and said, “If you don’t go, I bet my dad won’t get a wink of sleep tonight.”
Darryl immediately gave him a glare. “How can you speak to Ms. Stout like that?”
He thought. This brat has no respect for Ms. Stout
Xavier smirked slightly but didn’t argue further.
Xavier was very grateful for Isabella’s life–saving act, but to him, Isabella felt more like a friend.
Seeing the insistence of them, Isabella realized she couldn’t get out of this dinner.
She nodded with a smile and said, “Sure. Let me call my family
Darryl was instantly pleased and nodded repeatedly. “Alright. Go ahead.”
An hour later, they were at the most upscale restaurant in Draxenport. Everyone here was dressed to the nines, an added elegance.

Chapter 114
After arriving at the private toom with Xavier and Darryl, Isabella walked in and chose a seat at the far end
It was obvious that Darryl had prepared everything. As soon as ey sat down, the waiters started serving the dishes.
And each dish was among the most expensive on the menu.
Isabella chuckled softly without saying anything.
Xavier picked up the wine and poured Isabella a glass, gently placing it in front of her.
Isabella whispered. “Thank you.”
Darryl looked at Isabella, his eyes filled with a gentle smile, and asked, “Ms. Stout, do you need to marry for an alliance?”
The unexpected question caught Isabella off guard, causing her to cough lightly.
Xavier pulled out a tissue and handed it to Isabella.
Isabella took it, nodding slightly as she softly said. “Thank you.”
Darryl was somewhat at a loss, realizing only then how abrupt his words had been.
He looked apologetically at Isabella and said, “Sorry. I was too abrupt.”
But Darryl quickly explained, “Ms. Stout, it seems like your family situation is a bit complicated. I just want to help you out. With the Cox family supporting you, no one would dare to bully you.”
He looked at Isabella with a hint of sympathy in his eyes. Isabella was treated like that by her father. If it were anyone else, they might not have been able to handle it.
But she was doing fine and had grown into an outstanding person.
Darryl even wondered what Hudson was thinking. He couldn’t understand why he could be so critical while having such an excellent daughter.
