Chapter 4
Buzz buzz
The vibration pulled my thoughts back to the present.
I opened my phone and saw a friend request.
The profile picture was of a small white dog.
Nickname: “Tarly to Bed Farly to Rise,”
eked on the profile of Kitty Back and suddenly recalled something.
A while ago, Norton had sent me a picture of this very dog. He’d found it in a dumpster.
He had asked if he could bring it home, but I had refused.
He had sent a string of ellipses afterward and never brought up adopting the dog again.
1 didn’t bother explaining to him that I was severely allergic to dog hair,
After accepting the friend request, a message quickly popped up.
“Dr. Timothy, I heard you’re a psychologist, but it seems you don’t really know your boyfriend. You haven’t been intimate for a while, huh? Last night, my man wanted me ten times, He’s quite a beast,”
My fingertips trembled. When my suspicions were confirmed, I couldn’t help but feel deeply hurt.
Seeing that I hadn’t replied, Kitty sent three photos.
One was of a naked, intimate photo; another showed her neck covered in hickeys, and the last one was of Norton giving her a leg massage.
“If we hadn’t broken up back then, do you really think you’d still be the one by his side?”
As if prove her point, Kitty sent another photo,
Sly was wearing a diamond ring on her ring finger,
“Dr. Timothy, does this diamond ring look familiar to you? I just mentioned liking it in passing, and he bought it for me.”
My gaze fell on the picture, and I froze,
I remembered the day we went to buy the diamond ring–it was the exact design I had picked out. Norton had even left a deposit. Later, he told me he’d lost it on the way to pick it up,
Thad noticed the guilt on his face then, but I thought it was because he’d lost the ring. Now I realized it was because of his affair.
Kitty continued to bombard me with messages,
“Being alone at your engagement party… I wonder what that feels like?”
“Such an important moment, yet Norton chose me over you. Oh wait, maybe it’s because of the dog we adopted.”
“Dr. Timothy, see? You’re not even as important as the dog in his eyes. Hahaha.”
I calmed myself and replied slowly,
