Love Story3 Chapter 1
“Naney, I have something urgent to attend to. You handle things here for now.”
Norton didn’t give me a chance to speak. He hurriedly left after saying that.
I watched his figure rush off, and the excitement 1 had been feeling gradually settled into calm.
What Norton didn’t know was that I had been standing behind him when he took that phone call.
I clearly heard a girl crying on the other end.
what should I do? I was playing with Ball Ball, and it accidentally ate rat poison. Now it’s foaming at the mouth, and I’m so scared.”
Norton didn’t hesitate for a second. His voice softened immediately.
“Don’t be scared. Take Ball Ball to the pet hospital right away. I’m coming now.”
If I hadn’t experienced it firsthand, I might never have believed that Norton would leave me at our engagement banquet to run off because of a dog.
After he left, everyone in the room looked at me.
My parents‘ faces were dark with dissatisfaction, though they didn’t speak.
Norton’s parents also looked awkward. His mother quickly spoke up.
“This child, he’s always been this way–impulsive and careless. Who knows what’s going on now to make him so flustered.”
“Ah, it must be something serious, or else Norton wouldn’t have left so suddenly.”
Norton’s mother smiled and came over to comfort me.
“Helen, don’t be angry. I’ll teach him a good lesson. From now on, no matter what happens, he should prioritize you.”
I subtly pulled away from her touch and replied coldly.
“Sinte Norton’s gone, there’s no point in continuing the engagement banquet. My parents and I have matters to attend to. We’ll leave now.”
I faid that and turned to leave with my parents.
As my gaze passed over the engagement book, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of irony.
I had poured so much effort into planning this engagement banquet, and Norton knew that better than anyone.
From the grand processions down to the smallest decoration, I had designed it all myself.
Now, the protagonist of this engagement banquet was only me. How laughable.
After my parents left, I pulled up the footage from Norton’s car camera.
The moment he got into the car, he immediately called Kitty Back.
The drive took twenty minutes, and the call lasted the entire time.
The conversation was simple–just Kitty crying softly while Norton comforted her.
I first met Kitty two years ago.
At that time, she had just entered college.
It was right after Norton and I had exited the movie theater, when we saw a young man holding flowers, making a heartfelt confession.
A crowd had gathered, teasing him.

“Say yes! Say yes!”
“Kiss him, kiss him!”
Norton joined in, laughing.
But I noticed that Kitty instinctively took a step back, crossing her arms across her eiwet,
As the teasing grew louder, Kitty pressed her lips together tightly, her eyes glistening with unded tears.
It was clear that she was resistant to this sudden confession.
Yet, perhaps because of the teasing or her personality, she couldn’t bring herself to refuse, looking, wiples
en I glanced at Norton again, his smile had completely faded. His expression darkened as he glared at the boy, the time, 1 idet disk box, freely saying softly,
“This girl doesn’t want it.’
Before I finished speaking, Norton had already pushed his way through the crowd and pulled Kitty Back behind him.
His eyes narrowed, and his voice turned cold,
“Sorry, buddy, she has a boyfriend,”
Kitty was stunned for a moment by Norton’s sudden appearance, Her red rimmed eyes filled with more tears,
“You…”
After the crowd dispersed, the atmosphere between them was awkward, Kitty seemed like she wanted to say something but lowered her head when she saw me.
At that time, I sensed something was off, but I didn’t pay much attention. I never imagined that they would later have such close connections.
It wasn’t until much later that I discovered that Norton and Kitty had known each other long before.
The first person Norton had ever fallen for was, in fact, Kitty Back.
