Chapter 8
“Molly, I’ve made up my mind.” Robert lowered his eyes, and in his dark gaze, there was a mix of determination and some other emotion I couldn’t quite decipher. “Let’s get married in a while.”
“Really?” A flash of joy lit up in Molly’s eyes.
I had imagined that Robert would marry Molly after my death.
I just didn’t expect that he’d be so eager to marry her so soon after I was gone.
Maybe he was busy preparing for the wedding, as Robert started leaving early and coming back late every day.
Sometimes, he wouldn’t show up at all.
Molly, on the other hand, barely left the house, spending most of her time idly.
One day, after finishing a phone call, she impatiently pushed open the door.
To my surprise, the person who walked in wasn’t Robert but a stranger.
I stared intently at this man, feeling a strange sense of familiarity, though I couldn’t place it.
The man pulled Molly into his arms, and his words sent chills down my spine.
“Babe, I’ve carried a life on my back for you this time. Once you marry into the wealthy family, you better not betray me, or else I..” The man paused his tone laced with a hint of threat.
Molly nestled into his embrace, smiling sweetly. “Don’t worry, once I marry Robert, I’ll be Mrs. Wright. By then, all of Robert’s assets will belong to us.”
With that, she threw herself at him, and they became entangled.
At that moment, I finally remembered everything.
This than wasn’t just anyone–he was the same one who drove the car that crashed into me.
I finally understood that my death wasn’t an accident.
If had been a plot, carefully orchestrated by Molly and this man.
Knowing the truth, I felt a wave of weakness and a deep sense of sorrow.
Robert, oh Robert, is this really the woman you’ve always cared for?
In all those moments when you abandoned me for Molly, did you ever imagine that she was betraying you too?
I couldn’t help but wonder how Robert would react when he learned the truth.
After the man left, the smile on Molly’s face instantly vanished.
She looked toward the door with a vicious glint in her eyes. “Ha, once I marry into Robert’s family and become Mrs. Wright, do you really think rd give up a luxurious life to be with you again?”
I stared at Molly in disbelief, a chill running down my spine.
At that moment, Molly seemed to sense something and glanced my way, causing me to instinctively step back.
It was only when I realized she couldn’t see me that I let out a sigh of relief.
During this time, my mom and Robert arranged to collect my belongings from the house.
Perhaps out of guilt, Robert handed the box over to my mom, his expression somber. “Auntie, I’ve packed all of Georgia’s things into this box for you.”

My mom took the box from Robert’s hands, her face expressionless.
Just as she was about to leave, she noticed Molly standing nearby.
My mom instantly realized that this was Robert’s mistress.
Facing Molly, my mom showed no kindness.
She glared coldly at Molly, her tone sharp. “You must be Molly. My daughter hasn’t been gone long, and here you are, moving in without hesitation. Is it that you just love being the other woman?”
“Hey, how can you say that about me?” Molly’s expression shifted slightly.
Her eyes reddened as she trembled and said, “Haven’t you heard the saying? In love, the one who isn’t loved is the other woman. Robert and I truly
each other.”
“I understand your grief over losing your daughter, and I’m sad too, but this has nothing to do with Robert or me….……”*
After saying that, she clung to Robert’s arm. “Robert, isn’t that right?
My mom’s gaze, filled with contempt and resentment, was almost too much for Robert to bear. Yet he neither agreed with Molly nor explained anything. He simply stayed silent, allowing Molly to hold onto his arm.
