Chapter 8
I am not a cold–hearted person. On the contrary, because of my unique upbringing, I value family and friendship more than most people.]
If Kamila were truly just a relative of Peter’s and if Peter hadn’t been responsible for my mother’s death, then I might have eventually forgiven Kamila for destroying my home due to a misunderstanding.
But I never expected that beneath this misunderstanding lay so many hidden truths.
While I am saddened by all of this, I also feel a bit relieved–relieved that this farce revealed Peter’s true nature, allowing me to stop seeing him as a father figure.[]
Because of this, I won’t let anyone involved in this mess get away with
This includes the bystanders and streamers who joined in on destroying my home. They acted solely based on Kamila’s words, without any evidence, and wreaked havoc on my property.]
People like them, if not taught a lesson, will likely pose a threat to society in the future.[]
Besides, they destroyed the last keepsake my mother left me.
That’s something I can never forgive.]
Seeing that she couldn’t afford to pay for the damages, Kamila tried to shift the blame onto the streamers.[]
But she didn’t expect the streamers to immediately turn on her, blaming her instead.
“If it wasn’t for Kamila telling us to do it, we wouldn’t have lifted a finger. You said you’d take full responsibility if anything happened, and now you’re trying to pin it all on us?”
“Exactly! We’re the online judges who punish mistresses, and we’ve never failed in all these years. It’s Kamila who got the situation wrong, so blaming us is a bit unfair, don’t you think?”]
As they deflected responsibility, they also tried to seek my forgiveness.
Because if I forgave them, they wouldn’t have to go to jail.
Seeing that I remained resolute, they tried to guilt–trip me.
“Your family is so wealthy, why are you picking on ordinary people like us?”
“Exactly! This money is just a drop in the bucket for you. We were misled and are victims too, so why are you refusing to let this go?”
“Yeah, Kamila and her dad caused the real trouble. Why don’t you go after them? What’s the point of picking on ordinary folks like us?–
Listening to their words, I could only find it laughable.]
Back when they were making a fortune from destroying my home, they were more excited than anyone.
But now that it’s time to face the consequences, they’re trying to pass the blame.
How can they expect things to work out in their favor? Do they think they can enjoy all the benefits without any of the repercussions?
Taking responsibility for their actions is the punishment they deserve. I don’t see myself as bullying anyone.[]
