Dianna tried to comfort her. “Those things aren’t always accurate. Why don’t you go to the hospital tomorrow to have a proper check–up?”
“I…” she faltered, overwhelmed by panic. “Anna, I can’t think.”
“Where are you? I’ll come to you,” Dianna said quickly.
“No need. I’m fine.” She wanted to be alone. Both her mind and heart
were in turmoil.
“Are you sure, Silvy?” The panic in Silvana’s voice worried Dianna. “I’ll accompany you to the hospital tomorrow.”
“It’s fine, Anna,” she said. “I’ll manage by myself.”
Defeated by her stubbornness, Dianna could only reluctantly make her promise to call if anything happened.
After hanging up, Silvana received a message from Kendrick on WhatsApp.
“I can’t find one of my documents. Do you have it?”
She was puzzled. Why was he asking her this, after she had left all his documents at Serenity Estates?
She replied, “Irving already took all your documents.”
Seconds later, Kendrick called her. She frowned and only picked up after the phone rang a few times.
“What took you so long?” His questioning voice came through before she

could speak. She said after a pause, “I don’t have any of your documents
here.”
“Really?” He didn’t sound convinced.
“If you don’t believe me, ask Irving.”
He suddenly asked, “You sound weird. What happened?”
“Nothing.” She wasn’t planning on telling Kendrick about the pregnancy. He hated children, and on top of that, they were divorced. Even if she were really pregnant, it had nothing to do with him… except that he was the father.
Clearly not buying it, Kendrick said with a sneer, “We’ve just divorced, and you’re already seeing someone?”
He had mistaken her meeting with Jeromy tonight for a date.
A smile curved Silvana’s lips. “Even if I am, so what? We’re divorced. Unlike you, I didn’t do anything wrong.”
Kendrick fell silent.
The more Silvana thought about it, the more furious she became. If it weren’t for Christina, she wouldn’t have landed in so much trouble. She raised her voice. “Kendrick, we have nothing to do with each other now. Keep your woman on a leash.”
“What do you mean?”
“Stop playing dumb, OK?” Her chest tightened, and she still felt nauseous even till now. “I’m not stupid. You fooled me once. It won’t happen again.”
With that, she hung up decisively and blocked him on everything.

Lost in thought, she lowered her head and stroked her still–flat abdomen, muttering, “Baby, your father is a jerk. We don’t want him in our lives.”
Early the next morning, Silvana turned off her phone and went to the hospital. Though she was a bundle of nerves on the way, she knew she had to face the reality anyway.
After reviewing the test results, the doctor said, “Congratulations, Ms. Mendoza. You’re five weeks pregnant.”
Overwhelmed by mixed feelings, she clenched her fingers and opened her mouth, but no sound came out.
Moments later, she stepped out of the consultation room, looking even worse than she had on her way there.
She could never let Kendrick know about the baby. He had always been adamantly opposed to having children and would certainly never allow her to keep it.
An hour later, she returned to the studio. Shortly after, Sherrie told her, “Silvana, several clients called this morning to cancel their orders. Some even demanded we return their deposits and compensate them.”
A scandal like this would surely affect the studio’s reputation. Silvana immediately called each of her clients to explain. A few believed her, but most didn’t want any trouble, so she refunded their deposits as requested. However, she refused to pay any additional compensation, as it was never part of their agreements. Those who claimed compensation all had connections to Julianne, and obviously, they were siding with her.
Under any other circumstances, Silvana could have handled this, but Christina’s involvement made it impossible for her and Julianne to reach a
settlement.
Clearly, Christina was determined not to let her off the hook.

She spent days dealing with her clients. Then Dianna called her, saying there was a serious buyer for the apartment. The buyer liked it very much and wanted to take a look as soon as possible, so they quickly set a time, and Silvana cleared her schedule to go. But upon arriving, she actually saw Christina.
Even Dianna didn’t know Christina was the potential buyer.
“Well? Are you surprised to see me?” Christina, as usual, was dressed to the nines, head–to–toe in designer labels. She slightly raised her chin, looking condescending.
Dianna spát before Silvana could speak, “Exactly how shameless are you?”
“Dianna, I know you’re good friends with Silvana, but… A word of advice? Stay out of this.” Christina gave a dismissive snort, not taking Dianna seriously at all. She came here today just to insult Silvana.
Silvana pulled Dianna back and said to Christina, “You want to buy my apartment?”
“Yeah, so?”
“Alright. Take a look. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me,” Silvana said flatly.
Dianna gaped at her, utterly shocked.
It was Christina they were dealing with! Let alone whether Christina was really interested, given her attitude, she was clearly here to pick a fight! What was Silvana thinking?
Christina frowned but said nothing. She then walked around to inspect the apartment.
Making sure Christina couldn’t hear them, Dianna whispered in Silvana’s

“Any serious buyer with the cash is welcome,” Silvana replied. To her, there was nothing left here worth clinging to. She had no problem with it if Christina really wanted to buy it. “Why would I turn down money?”
Dianna said, “But she clearly is here to-”
