“You owe me, because you have taken him away for years. Silvana, mark my words. I’ll make you pay for what you did.” Christina stepped forward and removed her sunglasses, her eyes ablaze with hatred.
Silvana laughed, mostly at herself. Instead of explaining, she stated, “If it’s any consolation, Kendrick doesn’t love me. I don’t love him, either. Marrying him was a spur–of–the–moment decision. For me, he’s nothing special.”
Her words weren’t just for Christina. They were meant for her as well.
She didn’t care whether Christina believed it.
After saying that, she grabbed Dianna and walked away.
Outside the police station, Silvanà called Garrett and told him about Olivia.
After Silvana hung up, Dianna blurted, “Does Christina ever give up? Should we see Kendrick and lay our cards on the table? Let him rein Christina in so she stops making things difficult for you.”
Garrett was furious. He immediately held Silvana accountable. “So you just left Olivia to fend for herself? Does this befit a sister? I swear, if they so much as harm a hair on her head…”
Silvana ended the call before Garrett could finish and blocked his number this time. She decided to cut all ties with them once and for all. What would happen to Olivia did not concern her. Besides, Olivia shouldn’t have messed with Christina, and her fate depended on whether she “took” the thing or not.

Silvana could barely manage on her own. Her morning sickness got worse. At work, Sherrie once caught her throwing up. Assuming it was a stomach problem, she bought Silvana some medicine.
Silvana made up an excuse and avoided taking the medicine.
Felicia’s visits to the studio became more frequent. While discussing matters, Silvana furrowed her brows and endured the nausea, her face as pale as a sheet. Felicia noticed her condition and asked, “Are you feeling all right? Why is your face so pale?”
Silvana didn’t answer. She covered her mouth, pointed at the bathroom, and dashed inside. After closing the door and turning on the faucet, she started gagging nonstop.
When she emerged from the bathroom, Felicia held her phone and said, “Your phone has been blowing up. Are you feeling better now?”
“Yes. Thank you.”
Silvana took the phone and answered it, only to hear Irving’s voice. The timing of the call couldn’t be worse. She didn’t want to deal with anyone connected to Kendrick right now, including the driver. Irving, however, spoke gently, “Ms. Mendoza, it’s me, Irving.”
“What’s up?” Silvana replied, her voice icy.
“Are you free right now? I need to ask you for a favor,” Irving said politely, showing her respect.
“No, I’m not free.”
“Well, in that case, please let me finish.”
Silvana remained silent.

Silvana thought she had heard a joke. Why beat around the bush when he could just say it was for Christina? Doesn’t he know who she is? How could he even ask his ex–wife to make jewelry for his current girlfriend?
Was he trying to rub it in?
Silvana hung up and called Kendrick. Kendrick picked up right away. She asked, “What do you mean?”
“What’s that? I’m confused.” Kendrick was calm as always.
Silvana thought he was messing with her again. “What do you want from me? We’re divorced, and I’ve let you be with her. Why keep bothering me? Christina has made my life miserable. Isn’t that enough for her?”
Before Kendrick could answer, Silvana went on. “Kendrick, meeting you was the start of all my bad luck. You’ve been lying to me from the get–go. Are you happy now? I’m sure that you’re laughing at me behind my back.”
“What are you talking about?”
Thinking he was still pretending to be clueless, Silvana flew into a rage. “I know you come from a rich family, and I’m way out of your league. I never expected you to accept me, so there’s no need to use Christina as your messenger to remind me of how different we are. We’re divorced. Do you think it’s funny to have her run up to me, throwing fits and talking
nonsense?”
“I’m trying to run my small business. Is that too much to ask? Can you and Christina cut me some slack?”
She figured she had already owned up to the Julianne incident and apologized to Christina, but her leaving Olandale was out of the question.

She had a career and her friends here. Why should she have to leave after divorcing Kendrick?
“Did Christina tell you this?” Kendrick remained calm, his face betraying no emotion, as if the truth wouldn’t affect him and make him punish Christina.
“Yes. That’s what she said. If you don’t believe it, that’s your problem. I have no reason to speak ill of her.”
“I’m sorry. If Christina really said those things, I’ll apologize on her behalf.”
Silvana sensed the irony. Why was he so committed to defending Christina regardless of what she did?
Did he love her that much?
“I won’t accept your apology. I just need you and her to stop harassing me.” Silvana hung up, determined to draw a line between them.
Kendrick quickly called Christina, and Christina wasted no time picking it up. She said sweetly, “Kendrick?”
“Did you talk to Silvana?” Kendrick cut to the chase.
“Me?” Christina responded promptly. “Yes.”
“What do you want with her?”
Sensing the tension in Kendrick’s tone, Christina explained, “I didn’t do anything.”
“Are you sure you want me to repeat it?”
