A push against my shoulder wakes me and it takes me second to figure out where I am. Then I recall the events from last night and a smile spreads across my face.
“James.” A soft voice next to me whispers. With a jolt I sit up and look at Maggie. “What is it, Maggie?” I ask her, she holds out a phone to me and says it is Mason.
I can tell the phone isn’t mine and for a second I look confused. “It’s Dagmar’s and I didn’t know if it was wise to wake her.” She says softly. I take the phone from her hand and ask Mason why he called.
He tells me that within the next half hour the second enemy wave will be upon us. And that their reinforcements will be there about an hour after that. Ithank him for the intel, then I turn to Maggie and ask her if she can start making breakfast.
“Make sure it is something we can cat on the run, we have about 30 minutes.” She jumps up and she wakes up Elly, Lucy, June, and Ella. On their way to the kitchen, she fills them in and within seconds I hear them moving around the kitchen.
I mind–link everyone to alert them to the danger, then realize I cannot contact the Alpha’s. A knock on the door, tells me that at least someone from the Packs is awake.
1 open the door to see Jeff standing on the front porch. Before he can say anything I tell him to alert the others, that the enemy will be knocking on our door in less than 30 minutes.
I see his eyes glaze and I know that the alarm will be sounded soon. As I am about to close the door, I realize that Jeff is still standing there. I ask him if there is something I can do for him and he nods his head.
At that same moment I hear feet storming down the stairs, Jeff tells me he would like to talk to us. Maddox invites him in for breakfast, so he can talk while we cat. When Maggie hands him a plate, he tells her he already ate.
Maddox
“Enemy will be arriving in 30 minutes.” Sounds through the mind–link and as I jump up, Dagmar glides of my body on to the ground.
“Babygirl, I’m sorry.” I say. “You can blame your Uncle for that one.” I growl and she starts laughing. “It’s okay. I don’t break that easily.” She says jokingly. Using our speed, we get ready in a few minutes and as we head down, we are met with other couples emerging from the rooms on our floor.
And by the time we are gathered in the hallway, I have a smile on my face. “I would like to talk to you about something.” I hear a Warrior say. The guy looks familiar, but I cannot place him, so I invite him in and tell him to start talking.
He tells me that Josh, Eric, and himself were sent to the farthest border there is at the Full Moon. They were sent there as punishment.
“Why did the Alpha’s think it was necessary to punish you?” I ask. He explains that the Alpha’s had not appreciated them volunteering to stay with Dagmar.
“What would they gain by sending you there, Jeff?” Dagmar asks and I am curious about the answer as well. He tells her that this way they would remain mate–less if one of the so called Omega’s was their Mate.

Because the distance was too far for the bond to snap in place. Before she can respond I grab her arm and pull her on my lap “Calm down, Babygirl. I fix this.” I tell her in the mind–link.
“Jett, I hereby extend the invitation to you, Eric and Josh to join my Pack. Will you let them know?” Jeff looks at me and then his eyes glaze over, within minutes Eric and Josh show up. All three accept the invitation and we complete the oath immediately.
“Let’s get going. The enemy is closing in. No time to lose,” Rico yells before he runs out the door. Samantha is on his heels and I see Alice and Maggie looking at each other.
“John, escort Alice and Maggie to one of the shelters and help them keep the children safe.” I shout towards him, as I run out the door.
“On it. Alpha.” Dagmar and the rest are on my tail, as I order through the mind–link that they are to report to their previous post. “Make sure you tell them to report to their Pack–members what is happening and report to me if someone breaches the border.” I tell them through the link.
Dagmar stays close to me, this time she is not staying behind.
John reports that he and the girls made it to one of the shelters and that they are in position. One by one my men report that they are in position. As Dagmar and I approach our post, Glenn reports the arrival of the first enemy–warriors.
Every group consist of a Lycan and members of each Pack, this way everyone is up to date on the circumstances as they happen. The south border is the first to get hit and within minutes they attack from
all sides.
I let Cole push forward and we charge the Wolves that are coming. A wolf charges at me, head on, and we grab his head in our claws and snap it. Around us bodies are dropping, the smell of blood and death becomes stronger and stronger.
Dagmar is fighting of two wolves and for a second we want to go to her, but then a whimper to my right draws our attention. June is surrounded by five wolves and one has his teeth in her hindleg.
