Linda’s gaze drifted through the swirling steam rising from her coffee, settling on Ivan.
Blurry, hazy, as though she couldn’t see him clearly.
“This game has generated over ten million in revenue so far. I can give up my share…”
“Linda”
Ivan lowered his eyes, cutting her off.
“I admit I was wrong. I lost my way, I gambled that you couldn’t leave me, that you’d always stay, I cheated during our marriage–1 betrayed you. If you want a divorce, I’m willing to leave with nothing”
“Novelist’s Love Choice, The One Tech, every game–they all carry your efforts. Everything I
have is because of you. You deserve to take it all back.”
“The only reason I’m here today is to know–will you never forgive me?”
As he spoke, he finally mustered the courage to lift his eyes and meet hers, hoping to find
even a flicker of softness or hesitation.
But there was none.
Linda’s expression remained calm and indifferent, unmoved.
She didn’t answer immediately. Instead, she stirred her coffee slowly, deliberately.
Ivan knew this habit of hers–it meant she was thinking, and the answer would not be kind
to him.
“Ivan, from the moment you cheated, it became impossible for us.”
Her words struck like a gavel, sealing his fate.
Ivan closed his eyes, his Adam’s apple moving as he swallowed hard.

When he opened them again, they were clear, though faintly wet.
“Linda, I…”
He tried to smile, pulling at the corners of his mouth, but before he could speak further, he turned his head to wipe at the corner of his eye.
“I agree to the divorce. I’ll accept all your terms. But I have one request.”
His eyes were red, brimming with warmth and moisture.
He blinked repeatedly, unwilling to let her figure blur before him.
Quietly, he waited for her response, just as he had so many times before–sitting behind her, hoping she’d turn around and see him.
How could someone who had once held the moonlight in his arms chase after a firefly?
Linda couldn’t understand.
Neither could Ivan, now crumbling under the weight of his regrets.
But the choices had already been made, the results set in stone. All he wished for now was for Linda to grant him one last favor.
“Alright. Go ahead,” she said.
Hearing her answer, Ivan let out a breath of relief, the tension in his body loosening in an
instant.
“I’d like to have one last meal with you.”
