“Rise and shine, Miro It’s almost midday and we have to go deal with Polina before it’s too late for us to do anything other than hand her over to her father,” Viktor said as he opened the curtains in the King’s chamber, making the King groan in frustration. He loved his best friend, but looking at the beautiful woman who was in his arms, he wanted to smack Viktor for ruining his sleep and the beautiful morning he was having
“Viktor. I love you brother, but you have five seconds to be out of this room, or you will work with the blacksmiths for a week,” the Lycan King said and Viktor didn’t even want to know what the rest of the threats were. He literally disappeared into thin air. like he wasn’t even in that room in the fort place.
Miroslav let out a knowing cuddle as he tried to go back to sleep, or rather pretend like he hadn’t been awake since dawn. He always woke up at dawn, but in the past month, he had been staying in bed a little longer because he wanted to spend more time with Ralph. He wanted to hold her a little longer. The dark King had blamed himself for not being there for her and allowing Polina to think that she could take his Erasthai anywhere. He would protect her, always.
“Dammit, who opened those goddamn curtains? Ralph complained as she crawled under the duvet, holding onto the King like she didn’t want him to let any more light into the room. Unfortunately for them, the window in their chamber was huge and wide, and Viktor graciously opened all the curtains.
“If I say it was Viktor, will you believe me?” Miro asked amusedly with a deep chuckle as he gently pulled the duvet off her head, and she looked up at him, allowing him to look into the beautiful eyes that he was always falling in love with, over and
“Can I please kill him! You can always bring him back to life. But just this once, please.” Ralph whined and the King gently pulled her up so their faces were in line with each other. He then pushed her hair off of her face. He could have teased her with her hair, but he had a feeling he would be sleeping on the floor if he so much as said anything displeasing to her. It was almost winter season and he wasn’t about to risk that, not with her
“Only if I get my morning kiss, my beautiful” Miro said once Ralph’s hair was out of her face and the King could fully see his beautiful Erasthai. He adored her even though she wasn’t quite feeling so confident on this particular morning.
I haven’t brushed my teeth. My breath stinks, and I think I might have a brain malfunction because of these damn li- Ralply rambled on, in the hope that the King would let her be. However, Miroslav had promised to be there for her when she felt beautiful or not, whether she was confident or not, and whether she felt like she didn’t deserve morning kisses, he would always be there to silence her with a morning kiss. She wanted to resist, but the pull was stronger, and soon enough she had forgotten about her whines and was responding to her mate’s kiss
“I love you so much, you know that, right?” Miro said when they pulled back, their faces flushed and their lips swollen. He didn’t mind because he loved that only he could do that to her. Only he was able to get her in that very beautiful state. Only he could see her for who she was. Last evening, he had doubted himself and she had been there for him. Honestly, Miroslav considered himself a lucky man and even a luckier erasthai, for having Ralph as his partner. His world would undoubtedly revolve around her and he was reminding her of it, with every second that he could.
“It’s impossible not to know, Ibrahim. You tell me that all the time. I think the entire Asmoria might be convinced that I used some magic on you to make you like this, hmm?” Ralph teased, kissing the King’s nose casually like she didn’t just tease him. Then again, she loved him just as he did her and there was nothing that could come between them.
“Well, I hope the entire world knows that too. I could shout it at the top of my lungs. Or maybe I should start by going up to the highest part of the palace rooftop and let the entire realm know how much I love you, right?” the King said earnestly and Ralphine shut him up with a kiss. She knew that the King wasn’t oking and he meant it, but she didn’t want the entire world in their affairs. It was however comforting to know that the big bad King was down for her. She just hoped that he knew that the feeling was mutual and that nothing would ever come between them.
I love you too, Ibrahim,” Ralph said as she wrapped her hands around the King’s waist, in the hope of keeping him in bed, even though a part of her knew it was a futile entry. Well, it was worth it, right?
“Baby, we need to wake up, askini. Or Heion will come wake us up, and he’s worse than Viktor. Let’s clean up and get to see Polina. It’s been a while since we saw her and we need to wrap up her case,” King Miroslav said and Ralph shook her head as

“Five more minutes.” Ralph said and the King agreed even though he had a feeling that the five minutes would be a little longer than she had asked for. However, he wasn’t going to deny his pretty lady five more minutes. After all, there wasn’t any harm in giving in to her whims anyway.
“Alright, Askim. Five more minutes and we get up. Promise?”
“Promise.”
An hour later, the King was still in bed with his mate and Kara was standing at the door staring disbelievingly at the couple She had sent Heion to come wake them up, but Heion had heard what the King told Viktor so he wasn’t going to risk it. The bald cloth always had the hardest work in the Kingdom, of course, other than the warriors who went to war. But then a war without proper weapons would already be a lost one. Heion wasn’t in the mood to ruin his life by being at the workshops twenty–four hours a day. The last time he had been there he had sworn to never do anything to risk it. That could explain why Kara was here herself.
“Good afternoon, Your Highnesses. Perhaps you may let us know if you’re sleeping in today, or if we have to wake you up with a bucket of cold water. I assure you; I have servants lining up just to help you wake up. Your Highness,” Kara said threateningly before she concluded calmly with “Your Highness Anyone would think this was just a normal interaction. And it was just that, right?

“I think she really is going to pour water on us, Askim, if we don’t snake up,” the King said, pulling the duvet over them, and Ralph facepalmed. This man was the King and he was hiding in her arms? What the hell was she supposed to do now!
You’re the King. You can just command her to leave us alone,” Ralph whispered and Kara scratched one of the buckets she was holding as if to remind the royals that she was standing at the door, waiting for them to ask for her gracious help in waking up.
“Me?… Why me? You’re the Queen. You have power over everything including me. Who even told you she would listen to me?” the King questioned in a whisper and Kara had just had about enough of the two kids in that bed.
I will count to three, and if by three you’re not up, and getting ready, it’s safe to say you will need my help in rising- won’t you, your royal highnesses?” Kara stated, the sarcasm dripping from her tone like she was so done with the two of them. Maybe this was their new normal?
“Ralph baby.. we will run to the showers, when she starts counting, alright?”

“One-” Kara began, but even before she could take another breath, the duo portaled into the bathroom, falling on top of things as Kara heard some falling sounds in there. However, she didn’t bother to go check on them, because they were easily the strongest creatures in the realin.
“Also, a reminder that there will be no breakfast for the both of you, but if you are hungry, feel free to come to the kitchens. And Viktor sends his regards,” Kara said as she walked out of the King’s chamber, lying behind a giggling couple in the showers like they were ten.
“Damn, she’s so scary,” Ralph said when she heard the door close and then she peeped to see whether Kara had really left or
was a trap for them.

“Thank you,” Ralph said earnestly and Kara just nodded before she left. She didn’t know what the queen thanked her for, but she knew that Ralph wasn’t the kind to just talk. There had to be something, but then it didn’t matter, because Kara was her servant and would always be her servant. She was just doing her duty, no matter what she had been thanked for.
“Is she gone?” Miro asked and Ralph rolled her eyes at her Erasthai who was standing there waiting for her.
“She’ll murder us if we’re not in the dungeons soon enough.”
“I can’t believe she said no breakfast for us,” Miro pouted.

“Well, we’re hungry aren’t we?”

An hour later, Ralph and Kara were on their way to the dungeons. The palace hallways were lively and everyone was attending to their duties. The King and Queen no longer looked like the bickering ten–year–olds they wore in their chambers, but instead, they looked like the people their people wanted them to be, only with more smiles than they had expected. Perhaps Ralph was really good for the Kingdom. The King smiled at his people, his hands holding his Erasthai’s as they walked past the hopeful Lycans.
The coronation ceremony had done a lot to improve the morale of the Lycans, and it was obvious especially when they seemed to be happier with whatever they were doing. In the past, they would always have firm faces as they worked, hoping for the day to end so they would go back home only to wake up and repeat the same cycle again. They always trained. harder than possible to man, like there was always a war coming in their direction. Their power was something that made them feared, and it made most of them uncomfortable. However, it wasn’t something that they could control, and it wasn’t like they could walk up to the King and ask him so as not to be a hard–ass to themt
However, since the Queen came, life had become different. The Lycans no longer lived in fear of the next war they would be called for. Instead, they lived their lives like normal people, embracing the sunlight and the bonds they had created over the

Granted. Miroslav had never imposed a rule on the Lycans to demand they train so rigorously, but then Asmoria citizens had taken up
that initiative to lessen the pressure that their King was feeling. They knew him so well knew he felt alone, even with his friends and they always wished someone would come to bring back the light in his eyes. And Ralph had done just that. To them, she was the Queen of hearts and they adored her.
“Are you ready?” the King asked once they reached the dungeons.
Ralph had been enjoying watching the Lycans who were interacting without fear. She loved how relaxed they were and silently she prayed and hoped that all would be well with them, always.
“Yes, I am ready, Ibrahim.”
