Kara didn’t understand what the Alpha meant by that, but she didn’t pay too much attention to it. She knew more than anyone, that the queen was to be protected with everything they had and didn’t have. It didn’t matter who they would face for her. The law was the law and with all they had encountered so far, they would be sure to keep her safer than anyone had ever been, not even the great king himself, and that much they were unsure of
“Shall we, my queen?” Kara said to Ralph as Alpha Bashir walked away. Ralphine wished there was more she could do for the alpha, but even she knew that this was a risky time for her and him. There was no way that she would be able to explain to the king that the alpha meant well. Hell, Ralph herself wasn’t sure the alpha meant well for her. The man had left, and had been alive all this time. Yet in all that time he hadn’t tried to reach out and find out about what was happening to Ralph. If he cared enough, he could have reached out to her, right?
“Of course. I wouldn’t want to miss Ibrahim’s closing speech,” Ralph said before she walked with her warriors to the throne room. Her entrance was anticipated, but over the past month, she had gotten used to the attention; all the eyes on her that used to creep her out, had changed and she was changing too. So when there were murmurs and everyone got up when she walked in, Ralph needed them, before her eyes focused on her husband and erasthai.
This was the man she would burn realms down if she had to, for the broken king she was determined to fix, just like he had fixed her. She had pride in her eyes even as she walked towards her king, his eyes holding hers with love and appreciation. Anyone could see that Ralphine was easily the most important person in the king’s life more than his people and even his friends. She was his entire life line and he couldn’t live without her.
“You look beautiful as always, my askim,” King Miroslav said when his queen made it to the pavilion. He was still staring at her, even when she kissed him on the lips, another thing Ralph had gotten accustomed to. Kara had told her that it wasn’t mandatory, but Ralph knew that with everything that alpha Bashir came with, the king would need more reassurance now more than ever. She didn’t want him to be at war with his own heart and she wouldn’t let him be tormented by his own mind like that.
“You don’t look too bad yourself, my love,” Ralph said as she sat on her seat, and the entire throne room followed suit, leaving just the king and the royal guards standing at all entrances, and keeping their watch. It was a nautical sight and a beautiful time for the erasthais.
“That will be all for now. Make sure to follow the rules and remember what I said about Drescher. He is dangerous and Polina will be tried as a prisoner by the high guards. Let’s all practice love and be kind,” the king said, concluding his speech. He had talked for a while since Ralphs came and she had been watching him tenderly, pride and love in her eyes for the man who had loved and saved her. She wanted to be there for him. However, when she heard his closing statement, it suddenly dawned on her that she had missed his entire speech, not to mention the fact that she had been eyeing him the whole time. Perhaps the king understood that, right?
Ralph watched as the Lycans left one by one until the only people left in the high throne room were just her and Miroslav. It seemed like he had told the warriors to leave because Kara and the high guards bowed and made their way out. The hall was wide and so empty that Ralph was sure that anything they said would echo and do rounds in this damned hall. It was crazy and creepy at the same time, yet when the Lycan king came to sit down next to her, holding her hands gently and massaging them, Ralphine Belyaeva was no longer complaining about the Huge hall. Maybe it wasn’t so bad when it was her and Miroslav, right?
“How have you been? How is the first month of being a queen taking you,” the king asked and Ralph stared at him, her eyes soft as they held his purple ones that were genuine. She could see love in the mad king’s eyes and she could see adoration 100. She could see herself through his eyes and in his eyes, she was easily the best thing that could have ever existed. Miroslav worshiped Ralphine; it was no secret, and the queen was slowly getting used to it. It was not shared to tell he had fallen hopelessly in love with her, really.
“I have been well, Ibrahim. You, on the other hand, have been atle too busy with everything. I wish I could be of more use to you. I am your Erasthai, 1 hope to help you shoulder some of the things in the kingdom, my king,” Ralph said earnestly as she leaned towards the king resting her head on his shoulders even though their chairs were a bit distant. However, Miro pulled them closer so his queen would be comfortable. He loved her, with every fiber of his being and she would forever cherish that.

“Don’t worry, askim, Wisen the time is right, you will join me in everything. This was your first month, so you shouldn’t put too much pressure on yourself. We are equals and partners, remember? Whatever is good for you, I will see to it that it is done. But for now, let’s just pretend like you and I are not the king and queen of Asmoria, or that we don’t have prisoners to attend to now that the coronation period is over. Of course, the king would always find a way to make her feel comfortable even when she felt she was lacking and dragging him down.
He was the perfect shoulder for her and was obsessed with everything about her. Her smile kept him awake, along with everything about her. Thankfully, it was not because he was worried that anything could happen to her, but because he didn’t want to stop thinking of her. He wanted to be there for her, always, even when she was sleeping. Their nights had gotten more relaxed and he always cuddled her as she slept. He loved having her rely on him and he loved that she felt safest in his arms.
King Miroslav wanted everything to be perfect for his queen and if it wasn’t that the people of Asmoria needed a functional queen, Miroslav would have taken on all the responsibilities and let his Erasthai just sit pretty and be beautiful for him. Sure, he knew she had some big brains on her, but that didn’t matter right now. The only thing that mattered to him, was her. Just her and nothing else. She was his home and she gave him a reason to keep going. Nothing felt heavier when he was with her, and he told her countless times that even as they sat so close in the throne room, Ralph knew what was going on in his mind. She knew she filled his mind at every chance he was free.
“Of course, my love,” Ralph said softly, as she raised their entwined hands to her lips, gently placing a kiss on the back of the king’s hands. His hands were rough from battle, but they held her close and right. They were her protection and she wouldn’t have them any other way. Oh, how she was wooly getting attached to the king. It wasn’t just because of the mate bond and they both knew it. They hadn’t marked each other despite the fact that they had finished the corporation and Ralph had had her first heat months ago. It only went to show how patient a man the king was. He wanted her to feel comfortable and safe and if that meant putting his desires on the side for her comfort, then he would do that, just for his

He didn’t want her to ever worry about anything and while that was commendable on his end, it made Ralphine feel otherwise. She just wanted to feel useful to him and not like she got all that she wanted because of him.
“Partners forever, Ibrahim. Remember?” Ralph said as she raised her head for the king’s shoulders and turned to look at him. She wanted to remind him that he wasn’t alone and the sooner he embraced that little reality, the sooner they would kick this off. It didn’t matter though, because regardless of what happened, they were already partners, now that Ralphine’s Lycan had developed fully.
“I just don’t want you to worry about me, Ralph. And I don’t want you to feel pressured and think that I get jealous easily. It’s just that all of this is new to me. You are new to me. Having a partner, someone I can rely on other than my best friends, is new to me. I hope you don’t take it the wrong way, baby, but I am still adjusting to the whole mating concept. I may falter sometimes, but please don’t think that I don’t care about you so that Jam locking you out, I just want to find a way that doesn’t hurt you. “I want to be there for you, Ibrahim. I want to be there for you to complain about the things you can’t complain about to your friends or people. We are in this relationship together, Ibrahim. I truly understand how new it is for you, I do, and I don’t judge you, my love. I just want to be the one you come home to when the sun comes down. I want to be the one to tell you your little inconveniences, however insignificant they may seem to others. I want to be the shoulder you lean on, without fear of bothering me. I want to be the one you can look in the eye and tell if something is bothering you.
