Alpha Cain’s 10. V
I remembered those glaring eyes as they watched me with sdain, with hate and turmoil. But I still let her down. I let my mate down because of some stupid tradition of mating with only women born of royal blood
The pain in Ellie’s eyes that night has haunted me since the day which had triggered me into searching for her. I never even expected to be seeing her like that. She had changed from the woman that I used to know, I didn’t know how I expected to see her but definitely not the woman she had become.
When I first saw her on that stage, I thought it was a pang of lust I’d felt. But I was wrong. What Ed felt at that moment was instant regret.
I wished I could take all that I did to her back. And then finding out that she has a son for me. I didn’t know how else I could contain the joy.
I know she would most likely never forgive me for all that did to her, but I just wanted her to give me a chance. Before
it’s too late for me.
The car pulled up to my penthouse and I dragged myself up to the door. The elevator takes me up to my room where I quickly jumped into the shower.
With the feel of the cold water hitting my skin, and the thought of Effie invading my mind again, my body tensed
I shut my eyes close to get a better view of the woman that was being propagated in my head.
I felt warm arms wrap around me from behind and I inhaled deeply as the scent hit my nose.
Effie. My mate.
1 felt her slim fingers gently wrap around my hard chest, her naked body pressed up against my back.
Everything felt right. This was how it’s supposed to be.
Everywhere her skin touched, I felt tingling sensations. My lick throbbed painfully between my legs. Unable to take the agony anymore, I turned around and pulled her into my chest.
All I could hear was the shower water hitting

Effie’s beautiful siren eyes looked up at me, her deep red lips tempting, and testing my sanity.
I wanted to slam her against the bath cubicle and fuck her good, to mark her and finally make her mine.
But this was just my mind playing tricks on me, teasing me and laughing at me. My mind mocked me of my lust for the same woman I chased off
“Alpha?” I heard Eli’s call from outside, fully bringing me back from my fantasy land
I quickly put off the water and wrapped a towel around myself before stepping out of the bathroom. I threw a jeans pants on, leaving my chest bare and rubbing a towel against my dripping hair as I made my way out of the bedroom to meet with Eli.
He’s standing by the couch a long the elevator, like he was just stepping into the house.
Eli looks confused seeing ine. Then the only thing he could think of saying was, “um… Do you need me to order you some food?

“Nah, I’m good Eli–I told him as I picked up the apple laptop on top of the center table and hurried over to the salon and placed it over the counter,
“What do you have for me?” I called to him and I switched on the computer.
“I haven’t gotten any feedbacks concerning the doctor.” Eli replied.
I stopped for a second as his reply hit me, then continued what I was doing. I logged onto Chrome and typed Effie’s fake name, Genevieve. Pictures of her sprouts on the screen like sprouting roses.
I spent a considerable amount of time watching her picture. She looked beautiful in every take.
I kept a closer look at her most engagements. Apparently she owned a couple of businesses and is in partnership with a lot of large businesses and organizations across the country.
It’s wired how the entire world manages
ages to know her by that fake name.
I couldn’t fathom the idea of leaving her here and leaving. I had other intentions of coming to this world. But now I have an even bigger reason to stay.
A thought occurs to me instantly and I turned to see Eli.
“I need you to start up a company.” I told him.
Eli looks back at me, confused.
“We’re not leaving here yet,” I continued “I need a reason to stay longer. Long enough to win Effie back. Just think of something we could be doing that will get us closer to her. We can even partner up with her.”
“You want us to stay here? What if Effie doesn’t wanna come back? I mean, it looks pretty much it to me.” Grabbing a glass from the stand and a bottle of white wine from the shelf, I pour myself a glass and sip it.
“Effie still likes me, Eli, I feel it.” I told him “she is just as attracted to me as I am to her.”
“Bute. What about your Queen, Alpha? Anisa.”
I thought about his question for a second. Placing the glass carefully next to the computer, I took steps towards Eli. I stopped close to his ear so he could hear my very gentle whispers.
“Anisa is just a queen, Eli. She is not my Luna. And she knows from day one that my heart is not with her,
I step back towards the salon again.
“I understand your love for Effie, Alpha. I was there with you the day you first saw her, Cain. And you actually did freeze. Eli chuckles mockingly.
I remembered perfectly. Seeing Effie that day had done things to me that I couldn’t even everfimagine. I had to walk into my own wedding reception shaking because I’d just seen my mate she was the most beautiful, fierce little woman I’d

And I’d spent a considerable amount of time in my room with Eli because my heart was still racing and my body trembling from merely just seeing her.
“Rejecting queen Antsa that day would have caused a lot of calamities for the clans, Cain. And rejecting her, now would cause even a more bigger problem, Not just for you, but for Effie too.
“I’m willing to fight for her, Eli. For them. I told him with angry, gritted teeth.

I didn’t need to thinking about that.

I still haven’t seen my son yet. I didn’t know if 1 was quite ready for that yet, I didn’t know what I’d do if I even go to him. All I’ve done since finding out about him was seeing pictures of him from a far, pictures taken by Eli who I’ve put up to stalking him. In a good way.
My phone starts ringing from the table and I pick it up to see that it was Mr Blogwood calling.
I wondered why he would be calling me. The man was a too fancy man. Always liking attention from every angle he could get it. Going on fancy dinners, traveling, even spaing
I pick it and place the phone over my ear. “Hello Mr Blogwood!” I said excitedly, pretending to actually be excited to be receiving his call.
But he didn’t sound too excited to be calling me “Mr. Cain Malaki.” I’m pretty sure he spelt my name Well, including the ‘mr’
“I need to see you now.” He adds.

I was confused for a moment. His voice sounded different from the plenty other times that I’ve met with him. He sounds upset and very unpleasant.
“Is everything okay Mr Blogwood?” I ask him with concern.
“Yes yes. Something has happened which requires your urgent attention. I will be waiting for you at my home now.” Hel said, followed by the sound of the call disconnecting.
I looked up to Eli who watched me with questions in his eyes
“Mr. Blogwood wants to see me. Apparently there’s something wrong that he wants me to know about.” I told him
“I’ll get the car started.” Eli said and turned away.
