Chapter 94
Samuel placed some food into Isabella’s bowl, his gaze sweeping over Sarah, who looked unusually tense, with a slight glint in his eyes.
He turned to Isabella and said softly, “Bella, please don’t mind if sometimes my sister speaks without much thought.”
Isabella paused for a moment, setting down her fork. She glanced at Samuel, then turned to look at Sarah.
Isabella took aback. “Samuel, you-
Isabella thought, “Why do you say that so bluntly? Am I ashame
Under the table, she quickly kicked Samuel. Isabella thought, ‘You brat!
But the next moment, Sarah’s leg was pinned down by Whitney who looked at her and shook his head slightly.
Isabella’s lips curled into a slight smile as she gently shook her head. “What happened before was over; I haven’t given it much thought.”
Then, Isabella turned to Sarah and continued, “My family background really doesn’t match that of the Howerton family, and I understand Ms. Howerton wanting to protect her younger brother.
Sarah felt even more awkward. If Isabella had just snapped back at her, she might not have felt this uneasy. She pressed her lips together. “For helping me heal my leg. I truly need to thank you.
Since Isabella was so gracious, Sarah felt that if she kept being awkward, she wouldn’t be as admirable as Isabella.
Sarah picked up a glass of juice from the table–Tll toast you with juice instead of wine.”

Isabella met her gaze, chuckled softly, and raised her glass as well.
The two women stood up and clinked their glasses in the middle of the table.
The two men, however, didn’t say anything.
At that moment, Rachana quickly climbed onto the chair and stood up. “Mommy, Auntie, I want to join too.”
Sarah sighed and lightly tapped her nose. “You’re always part of everything.”
“But I want to,” Rachana whined in her baby voice, making it hard to resist. Whitney supported Rachana’s little body, afraid she might fall off the chair.
Isabella moved her glass closer to Rachana and laughed gently, “Come on, cheers.”
Wobbling a bit, Rachana lifted her cup excitedly and shouted, “Yay, cheers.”
Immediately, everyone burst into laughter.
They chatted, laughed, and teased Rachana. The atmosphere became much more relaxed than before, and in no time, two hours had passed.
Whitney glanced at Isabella, looking a bit troubled. “Ms. Stout, Twas wondering if you might have some time.”
Bringing this up with Isabella now really wasn’t ideal.
But he had no other choice.

Chapter 94
Isabella set her fork down and looked up at Whitney, puzzled “What can I do for you?” asked Isabella.
Whitney sighed softly, concern all over his face, and said, “A friend’s grandpa is sick. They’ve seen many doctors but all those efforts were useless. Ms. Stout, you’re very skilled in medicine, and we hoped you could help treat him
Sarah’s expression froze for a moment and instinctively, she turned to look at Isabella.
She didn’t say anything, but as soon as Whitney mentioned it, she knew who it was.
Everyone knew about Isabella’s medical skills. It was only right to ask her to treat that person.
Isabella raised an eyebrow, curious. “What symptoms does he have?”
The mention of a difficult illness instantly sparked Isabella’s interest.
Thinking of the man’s condition, Whitney sighed, “He’s an old man, seventy–five this year. He suffers from intense pain that almost feels life–threatening each time it hits.”
Isabella furrowed her brow in confusion. “Is it all about pain?”
Isabella thought, Isn’t that a simple problem to handle?”
He should visit a major hospital for a full–body exam and get treated accordingly.
Whitney nodded and continued, “Strangely, every major hospital they’ve been to couldn’t diagnose any problems. Now, it’s affecting his heart, and if this continues, it might threaten his life
Isabella thought, “His heart is really prone to problems at that age after he has suffered severe pain for such a long time!
She wanted to pay him a visit.
Isabella glanced sideways at Samuel, seeking his opinion with her eyes
Since it involved the Howerton family, she needed to know what Samuel thought.
Samuel leaned back in his chair, his fingers stopped tapping lightly on the table.
He lifted his gaze to Isabella and gently said, “I won’t interfere with it and it’s up to you.”
Isabella finally took her eyes off him and looked at Whitney, responding, “Alright, I’ll take a look.”
Whitney’s face lit up with joy as he quickly asked Isabella, “Can you go tonight?”
We had just gotten the news that his condition had flared up again.
That was why Whitney was in such a hurry.
Since she agreed, Isabella didn’t intend to delay. “Of course, I can
Whitney immediately stood up excitedly. “Ms. Stout, thank you so much.”
He initially thought Isabella would only go over tomorrow.
After all, it was getting quite late.
Sarah looked conflicted, unsure of what to say. Generally, getting close to Samuel was an advantage enough to justify some pride, but Isabella could remain humble with or without Samuel present, showing great ethics.
Isabella stood up. “Let’s go.

Chapter 94
Rachana had been watching the adults talk with wide eyes. When Isabella said they were leaving, she quickly got down from her chair and ran towards her.
She held and swung Isabella’s hand and asked, “Auntie, are you off to heal and help someone again?“
Isabella looked down at Rachana, crouching to gently tap her nose, saying. “That’s right
Rachana gave a cheeky grin and leaned in to peck Isabella on the cheek. “Auntie, good luck. This is my lucky kiss
This filled Isabella’s heart with warmth.

Rachana then ran over to Sarah, waving her over. “Mommy, can you crouch down a bit?”
Sarah smiled and crouched down, obliging Rachana who promily kissed her too.
She waved at Isabella and everyone, saying, “Bye–bye, I’m off to wash up and sleep now.” At that moment, the housekeeper came over and took Rachana’s small hand.
Isabella lifted her eyebrows in surprise.
She had expected Rachana to fuss about wanting to go with them, but she was so obedient
Rachana was such a little sweetheart.
Sarah brushed aside Rachana’s messy bangs and said gently, “Begood, Mommy will be back soon.”
It seemed
d that all
all moms were alike, always worrying about their little ones before going out.
Rachana put her hands on her hips proudly and said, “Mommy. I’m not a kid. I know.”
She sighed that she was always being treated like a child.
Her little grown–up demeanor made everyone chuckle softly.
After arranging everything for Rachana, the four of them finally went out
They all drove in one car as Isabella wanted to better understand the old man’s condition
Whitney glanced at Sarah in the passenger seat while driving and said softly, “Sarah, could you open a bottle of water for
Sarah took a bottle of mineral water from the storage bag, unscrewed it, and handed it to Whitney.
After taking a sip, he finally spoke to Isabella and Samuel who sat in the back, “He’s a retired soldier and fought in wars when he was young. I wonder if that’s when he developed this condition.”
Isabella nodded in understanding.
