Chapter 23
For a sudden party hosted by the dangerous Lycan King, the attendance was something else. Everyone had shown up. The =ders from different packs had come to see for themselves what it was that could have gotten the King to invite them like that. Most had come out of curiosity just like the King had expected, which was something that they would feed. From Koslov, the Alpha’s son. Rykar Koslov had come, along with his beta, Drescher Volkov.
“We are glad you could make it,” Heion, the King’s enforcer, greeted while Viktor stood there still like a statue.
Ever since they had found out what the Koslov beta had done to their queen, Viktor had expressed his dislike for the bunch and right now he wasn’t going to pretend to want them in their home. Of course, that wasn’t an issue to the Koslov visitors because they simply assumed that Viktor was just in his element. The man was always cold, like he always wanted everyone to leave him the fuck alone and stay away from him; so, his cold attitude didn’t scare the Koslovs.
“Thank you, it’s an honor to be invited here, Alpha Rykar said with confidence once Heion let them in. He was amazed by how beautiful the Lycan kingdom was, and while it was just a once–in–lifetime invite, he knew that this had to be very important to the King.
They couldn’t deny that the sight of all the leaders in there creeped them out especially since it looked like this was the best chance for the Lycan King. Miroslav, to eliminate all the faction leaders and have no regrets. If anything, the Lycans could take care of themselves. It was crazy how even the warlocks had sent a representative, despite them acting like they couldn’t stand the King and all his antics.
Granted, the warlocks assumed that this was probably a part because of the queen. But even they couldn’t say a word, especially given their friends were being tortured endlessly in the Asmoria dungeons, not to mention the fact that they had come earlier and seen the Lycan queen themselves. There was something about Ralphine Belyaeva being the Lycan queen who had scared the hell out of the warlocks. Perhaps that was them overthinking, but in their world, nothing was by coincidence.
“This ball is insane. It makes me wonder why the King himself sent invites to us,” Beta Drescher Volkov said, speaking his first words of the night as he stood in the Asmoria ballroom. He had admired the place enough times and now even he was thinking what all the leaders were thinking, though were extremely reluctant to spell it out. It was crazy, but then none of them dared to tell it to the crazy Lycans who were mingling with them.
“It has to be special, let’s just wait,” Alpha Rykar said as he looked around. He wasn’t sure what this was for, but maybe they would get what they were hoping for, right?
Three hours into the celebration, the faction leaders began getting worried. None of them had seen the Lycan king, which was strange. Miroslav Ibrahimovich was a man who loved to show everyone that he was in power. He loved to express how little the people were before him, and yet here they were, having drunk and partied with the Lycans – however forcefully, but still hadn’t seen any sign of him.
“Is the Lycan king okay?” the leaders began asking, but just like the past three hours, the answer had remained the same: “the king is coming soon.”
On the other side of the palace, was a king who wasn’t sure he could hold it in anymore. He had lashed out at the prisoners in the dungeons, he had caused chaos that even his warriors had taken a step back. He was angry, fuming and he looked like he could kill them any instant. The only good thing about the entire situation was the fact that they desired everything, the magic coating the Asmoria dungeons made it impossible for anyone outside of the demons to know what was happening within.
The last time, Ralphine had heard it because she was their queen. Just like the king, she would have privileges, even against the Asmoria magic. However right now, as the warriors watched their king burn some of the prisoners to crisp with his magic, they knew shit was about to go down.
“What is taking you so long, Mir-“Viktor, who had come from the ball to see for himself asked when he reached the dungeons, But what he saw there made him step back and retract his question. There Was no denying what the issue was anymore. This, the chaos, right here was the result of what beta Drescher had done to their queen. There was no denying anymore and that in itself made it interesting, and just as dangerous as Viktor watched his best friend tear through things like it was not scary anymore.
“Miro, stop. If you continue like this, she will feel all the anger and you don’t want to see your queen angry with no idea of what made her angry, do you?” Viktor said as she walked over to his best friend after he complained about being the sacrificial lamb before a raging king. Then again, it was more than obvious that Miroslav Ibrahimovich wouldn’t ever do shit to his beta. He trusted and loved the guy too much, but right now, his rage would probably not remember that, right?
Chapter 43
“He hurt her by accepting a rejection. What kind of idiot does that to their beloved? What kind of sinister mind is that?” the Lycan king asked disbelievingly while his best friend listened to him. He knew that the king wanted more blood, but that was something even he couldn’t let the king have. Viktor had to be the rational one of the both of them, which was strange because Heion was always the one who knew what to do.
“And we will make him pay tenfold. However, right now, your queen is dressed and ready to go. Kara said she looked scared about the whole thing. If you don’t go to her, right this instant she will think you’re abandoning her too, just on the same day that she took a gamble and decided to stay with us. Now unless you want to break her heart too, you need to snap out of your rage and go to her.
“She doesn’t deserve to wait for her king just because you’re not sure what the fuck you want to do at the moment, brother,” Viktor said and Miroslav sighed defeatedly. He hated this. He hated that it was even happening. He hated that he had invited them over and even more he hated that they had shown up. He had wanted them to decline so he could give them a dataset of his furry, but now, he couldn’t because theta had shown up.
“Okay. I’ll… I’ll go and clean up before heading to her. Tell Kaa to buy me as much time as she can in the next twenty minutes to play?” the Lycan king said, much to the relief of not just his beta, and his warriors, but also at the relief of his prisoners who were scared they would be next for the lynching by the raging unforgiving beast.
“I will only leave once you leave. If I let you stay here for a minute longer the place will burn down, and it will be because our queen acted on the blind rage you’re feeding her through your incomplete bond. Now come along, brother, Vikt
said and the king just nodded in understanding before adding, “That would be so hot though.”
“How do I look?” Miroslav asked twenty minutes later when he had cleaned up and had no traces of the ill stench of blood he had been covered in earlier. He was in his royal attire, the long dark purple robe covering him, a match with his beautiful dark eyes. His crown was tilting pretty on his head, and it was held with his long hair that had been neatly combed at the moment. He looks nothing in the beat the prisoners had seen. If anything, right now, Miroslav Ibrahimovich looked like the greenest red flag to ever exist. He looked like every woman and man’s dream, which made him stand out.

Oh damn, you look dashing!” Polina said before Viktor could say anything.
“Well, you’re in good hands now I trust you won’t go back to the dungeons,” Viktor said before he patted his best friend gently on the back and made his way out.
He had to make sure that things were alright, because even he could feel Heion getting antsy. It was a side effect of their king’s rage and if the most controlled enforcer was in that state, it was just a matter of time before the Lycans themselves got angry and started killing people for no reason. Sure, they would be fined for them, but then the consequences would be extreme, especially if they attacked this bunch of their visitors..
“You sure clean up well, Miro,” Polina said as she walked over to where the king was standing as he looked at himself in the mirror. She knew he would never choose her, especially now that he had thrown the ball for his queen, but she hoped that he would get bored and come back to her.
Granted, he couldn’t tell that to them, but even he knew. Miroslav had never paid attention to Polina’s advances, much to her displeasure, but then at the end of the day, he was aligned with who did what he wanted and how he wanted it, not just because his friend liked him and wanted a seat by his side. That seat now belonged to Ralphine Belyaeva.
“I feel differently.”
“So does every Lycan out there, but we choose to not let it show. Come on, Miro, you’re a big boy now. Surely you wouldn’t let the night be wasted because you feel inferior to a mere werewolf beta, now would you?” Polina asked knowing so well that these were dangerous waters, but then someone had to do it. Someone had to be daring enough to tell the king to his face to stop being crazy.
“Fine, you suck at pep talks,” King Miroslav said and Polina just shielded him.
“Well, guess who I learned it from. Anyway, get out of here, and go after your brothel. Make sure to represent us well, okay?” Polina said before she pushed the king out of his chancers and locked the door behind them. He had to step out and take his seat where it belonged, even if that broke her heart. But then again, this was just the beginning and she was Polina. She would never give up, righ
“Fine, whatever. See you later,” King Miroslav said as he headed towards the chamber that had his queen. He was worried for her sanity and was worried that he had even been a little too cruel by insisting on the party. But then he had been rational because tonight, he would introduce her to the world. Tonight, he would let that dumb betta know that the woman he had hurt was the king’s erasthai and that there was a chance that vengeance was headed in the direction of Koslov.
