“Sire, I think we should go back. It’s gotten darker and it will be hard to get any catch tonight, Heion, the Lycan enforcer said as he looked around. Sure, they had their Lycans sights but it was pointless hunting in the dark
They had been at the palace the whole day, when their king, Miroslav Ibrahimovich, suddenly decided that he was going out for a luunt in the night.

“Are you looking for something in particular?” Heion asked, because he had seen his best friend and he knew Miro more than anyone else. He, Viktor, and Miroslav had always been best friends and knew everything about each other. Literally.
“You’re such an impatient man, Hei, King Miroslav said and his friend looked at him like the man had grown a second head.
“Seriously, Miro? Dude, we have been scouring for four hours and not even a rabbit has passed by. Are you sure you aren’t looking for some treasure? You can tell me, brother, I am loyal to you after all. I wouldn’t disappear with your treasure, hmm Heion said and the king snorted. He knew his friend too well, and he could tell that I leion was well past his patience phase.
If he was being honest, King Miroslav himself wasn’t sure what he was doing this far from the Lycan kingdom. It was like he had this urge to come to this very side of the palace and it just didn’t make any sense. He couldn’t exalt admit that to his best friend, because then he would probably curse him and his entire generation for getting them out here for nothing.
“I am the king,” Miroslav said and Heion grabbed him by the arm and dragged him to the side, making sure to trigger the sound barrier between them and the other Lycan warriors who had super hearing. He had questions but he couldn’t ask his. brother those before everyone else.
“And I am your best friend, you idiot. Viktor will come from Koslov with updates on the traitors and I have a feeling it will be good news. I am the one stuck with you here. So please, by all means, what the hell are you looking for? And don’t you tell me you’re the king? Everyone knows that already.” Heion said and his friend looked at him like he was insane.
If anyone knew that Heion was talking like this to the deadliest kin alive, they would have started praying for the man’s soul. However, the Lycans of the king’s guard were used to the two, acting like that. It was their way of communicating, not to mention Viktor and Heion were never scared of King Miroslav.
“Only if you promise not to laugh at me,” King Miroslav said and that got Heion raising a brow
“Are you high on something, Miro?” Heion asked and the king stared at him as if to tell him that he had to make the promise.
“Promise me,” Miro said and Heion sighed.
“I have nothing to laugh about, Miro. We have been in the cold looking for nothing for four hours. Trust me, my bed is calling for me more than whatever you say that might make me laugh. I doubt you have anything that funny,” Heion said and that was also how Miroslav knew Heion was not going to let this go

“I’m almost twenty–five, Hei. I’m way past the age to get a mate, I made my peace with that,” Miro said and Help just chuckled. He could tell that his brother was avoiding the matter. King Miroslav never avoided things but the topic of mates had been a sore one for him, so Heion didn’t even judge his brother for that. He knew it was going to be hard for him, and he understood the citation, but he knew he had to prepare Miro and remind him to be careful regardless.

“Sire, we found something,” one of them spoke and Heion quickly undid the barrier and rushed with his brother to where the warriors were standing. It was a few meters from where they had first been standing, so it didn’t take them long to get there. “What is it?” Heion asked, seeing as his brother was still trying to come to terms with that possible reality.

“Move it,” King Miroslav growled, and Heion instinctively stepped aside, curious to see what his brother would do.
