‘No, I don’t need you to give me anything.‘ I shook my head no.
He blinked, clearly surprised by my statement. ‘Don’t want anything? All my wealth, everything I own, can be yours if you want it.‘
I shook my head, smile grew wider. ‘Lorik, anything I want I can get by myself, not waiting for you to give it to me. I just need you to hurry up and get healthy, a lot of people who love you are worried about you.‘
‘You’ve changed a lot, Shirley, but I can’t help but want you to rely on me more.‘ Lorik’s expression softened and he nodded, ‘I will endeavour to carry out the treatment and return to health soon.

When I visited Lorik each day, I used my healing abilities to help his leg gradually recover. The progress was slow but steady, and with each passing day, Lorik regained more of his strength. However, Lorcia’s visits, which had been frequent at first, dwindled and eventually stopped altogether after she learned from the doctors that Lorik’s condition was difficult to recover from. It seemed she had no interest in staying by his side if there was no immediate benefit to her.

Dalia hesitated, glancing at Narik, who was now glaring at the closed door of the ward. Finally, she spoke, her voice low and filled with unease. “It’s Father.”
I frowned, confusion and concern swirling within me. “Andrew? Why is he here? He hasn’t visited
Lorik once since he’s been in the hospital.”
Narik’s voice was cold as ice as he answered, his eyes never leaving the door. “He’s here to check if
there’s any chance Lorik will get back on his feet. If not, Andrew plans to take over the Silvermoon
pack again, restore his identity as Alpha, and start grooming a new heir.”
