Chapter 32

Our bodies intertwined on the bed, the passion between us intense and all–consuming. Each touch, ench kiss, was a reminder of the deep connection we had once shared. Lorik’s hands were insistent, his movements a blend of tenderness and urgency.
“The night was a blur of pleasure and emotion, our bodies moving in perfect harmony. The
aphrodisiac’s effects heightened every sensation, making our lovemaking an experience of overwhelming intensity. Each gasp, each sigh, was a testament to the strength of our bond, a bond that had never truly faded.
When morning came, I awoke in Lorik’s arms. He was already awake, watching me with a soft expression. The morning light highlighted his tired yet happy face.
“Good morning,” he said gently, brushing a strand of hair from my face. His voice was tender, but
there was a hint of sadness.
I shifted, trying to process everything. “Last night was… overwhelming,” I said, struggling to find the right words. “It was intense.”
Lorik looked at me with a mixture of sadness and affection. “I know. I’m sorry if I pushed too hard. I just missed you.”
I looked at him, feeling a mix of regret and longing. “I missed… something stopped me from completing it so I said “But my return doesn’t change anything. I’m here for Caroline’s sake.”
Lorik’s face fell slightly, but he nodded. “I understand. Even if it’s just for a short time, I’m glad we
had this moment.”
I got dressed and tried to put last night’s passion behind me.
Just as I was about to leave, Lorik pulled on my arm and looked at me expectantly.
I knew what he wanted. I used to give him a kiss every morning when we woke up together, but not
anymore.
I pulled my arm out of his grasp, ‘Don’t overinterpret it, even if something like that happened last night, it doesn’t change anything.”
Lorik’s expression was a mix of sadness and acceptance. “I know. But for now, it’s enough.”
kneeled down near to me to extend a lip kiss but instead, I moved away.. He couldn’t try again

deft the room, my heart heavy with the weight of our past. The connection between in was undeniable, but the reality of my situation was clear. How long could I keep up this pret How long could I resist the pull of our bond, even if it was only temporary
I turned on my heel and went downstairs. The servants had already prepared breakfast, and the aroma filled the room. Daria, sitting at the table, gave me a knowing wink “How was your tiger
she asked
I managed a wry smile. “Interesting.”
After a while, Lorik came down the stairs. When he saw the sitting at the table, he came straight over nd dropped a kiss on my forehead. The servants exchanged glances and whispered to each other.
It was obvious he did it on purpose. I knew that we had to keep up the appearance of being in love in front of outsiders and could only accept the kiss through gritted teeth.
Lorik raised his eyebrows and a bad smile with a hint of amusement appeared on his face.
Rumors about the Alpha and Luna’s relationship falling apart must have been squashed. The guests looked surprised, their speculation about our relationship already starting to unravel. Daria looked pleased, while Lorik took my hand and led me to our seats.
“You both are such love–birds” She said in a loud happy tone to which I only smiled.
“We’re having a family gathering tonight,” Lorik announced. “My father is back at Silver Moon and wants to discuss some things with us”
Daria’s eyes lit up with curiosity. “Will Narik be there?”
Lorik hesitated before answering. “I’ve sent him a message, but he might not respond.” Lorik’s impression was unclear whether he had sent the message or not
Narik was their mysterious brother, a shadow in their family’s complicated web. All the discussions about Narik never resulted in a clear answer as to why he remains distant and hidden
Just then, my phone buzzed with a text from an unknown number. I glanced at it, my curiosity piqued. The message included a photo of a sleek, modified Kawasaki Ninja H2 motorcycle. It looked impressive.
The message read: “I’ve finished the modifications you suggested. The exhaust system is upgraded, and the engine won’t overheat anymore.”

miled, touched by the gesture. The Kawasaki was a high end model, and without my advice, it might have been scrapped.
I replied “I am glad that my advice has worked well for you and your bike
I’d like to thank you with dinner tonight.” He replied swiftly.
I was stunned. The invitation clashed with the timing of Lorik’s family gathering. Which side should “I choose?
