Freya knew Kieran’s skills. It would be only a matter of time before he dug up information on her.
If she didn’t take the initiative and gain the upper hand, and Kieran would find something incriminating, she and W Group would be in deep trouble.
With this in mind, Freya said with difficulty, “I’ll do my best.”
“It’s not about doing your best. You have to make it happen.” Ronan patted Freya on the shoulder. “It’s all or nothing now. Think it through.”
“I won’t let him find any flaws,” Freya assured.
Ronan hummed in response, an indifferent sound.
While Freya was still surveying her office, Ronan suddenly said, “Oh, by the way.”
“What now?” Freya looked at Ronan with confusion.
She thought, ‘What’s with Ronan today? Acting all mysterious?’
“Today, I heard something quite interesting at the university. Want to hear it?”

Even if Ronan didn’t mention it, Freya felt it was somehow related to her and probably to Kieran and Kara.
Ronan faked a disappointed tone, “That’s too bad. I was just about to spill the beans about your ambitious cousin, who’s been fooling everyone in her class, saying she’s the predestined fiancée of someone from the Sutton family. But it looks like you’re not interested.”
“Wait, what do you mean misleading?”
Wasn’t that the truth?
“Weren’t you not interested?” Ronan kindly said, “Freya, you should keep a closer eye on the people around you. The country girl Kara might have bigger ambitions than you think.”
“Thanks for the heads–up. I’m well aware.”
“That’s good then.” Ronan added, “We’ve finished the office tour. How about we grab dinner, and then I’ll drop you off?”
“No need, thanks. I just moved into a new place and haven’t had the chance to tidy up yet.”
Freya shook her head.
Then, as if remembering something, Ronan asked, “I haven’t asked you how bad your financial situation is now. Why settle for a place that’s practically a bird’s nest?”
Freya smiled. “Housing near Summit University is scarce. The upscale apartment Kieran rented for me is no longer available, and I was in a rush to move, so I had to settle for what I could find.”
“That old building is not the cleanest. I do have some friends in real estate. I’ll ask around tonight, and if there’s anything available, I’ll have the movers transfer your stuff in a few days.”
“How could I impose?” Though Freya said this, she couldn’t help but beam with joy.
“Of course, you’ll have to pay.”
Ronan had always been meticulous about keeping accounts clear. Since Freya had known him, she had never benefited materially from their friendship. But that was fine with her. Their relationship was based on mutual interests, clear and straightforward, ensuring no debts of gratitude owed.
