Chapter 17
He felt as though his heart had been pierced by an arrow.
Beep! Beep! Beep!
The cars behind him honked impatiently.
Far behind him, Sarah Bronson looked toward the front of the love of cars. Was that Trevor’s car?
What happened to hing? Why wasn’t he moving!
Just as she was wondering, Trevor White’s car bolted ahead.
“Camille… was that you, he mumbled in agony as he stared at the bus.
Sarah followed Trevor’s car closely. Many cars were on the road during the evening rush hour. He was driving insanely fast.
However..
There was red light.
Trevor gripped his steering wheel tightly. His car slowed down at the junction. It looked like he struggled to decide if he wanted to run the red light. In the next moment, Sarah’s car came to a screeching halt as she yelled, “Trevor!”
Three cars crashed into each other at the junction.
“Trevor
Sarah pushed her door open and ran toward him in heels. She wanted to hold up his wobbling body. The scene of the accident was in utter chaos..
Trevor stared in the direction that the bus had vanished. With blood on his forehead, he waddled as he tried to continue to give chase. Sarah grabbed his arm. “Trevor, What happened? Say something!”
Trevor turned around. His brows were furrowed. He opened his mouth and then closed it. He opened it again and said. softly, “I think… I saw her…
He tilted his head toward the sky in agony and felt his head spin
It was a Wednesday morning. The alarm in the bedroom started ringing promptly,
[Boom boom boom.]
La la la la.]
[The couple sitting at the harbor…]
[Were locked in a tight embrace]
She had used this gentle song as her only alarm all these years. Trevor once told her that the song was as adorable as she was.
Camille Shelton rarely had a day off, so she was in high spirits. She left her house with a transparent band–aid on her face- and a backpack.
She had spent 10 years living alone. Five were spent behind bars while the other five were spent abroad. She was used to doing everything by herself.

Chapter 17
Bringing up her child alone, finding a job alone, and shopping alone.
Although her son was only four, he was very hot–tempered. He was very picky about clothes. He didn’t like anything too colorful, but he didn’t like anything without any patterns either was very hard to pick out something he liked. Camille felt that he definitely didn’t get that from her.
In a big hospital in the city.
The patient sustained no major injury, but his mental state is rather unstable. It would be best to not disturb him for now,” the doctor said after leaving the ward.
Sarah looked inside the ward. Trevor was tussling around in his sleep.
Trevor’s personal assistant followed the doctor downstairs to settle the administrative matters.
Helen Bronson glanced at Luke Walter. “Luke, take Sarah home to rest. She has been here all night.”
Sarah looked inside the ward. Tears poured from her eyes. Her eyes became swollen. Luke signaled for her to leave with
him.
“What happened?” Luke asked after the two arrived downstairs.
His measured tone did not allow her not to tell him.
Sarah looked up at him. “He went crazy yesterday!”
Luke frowned.
Sarah suddenly cried as Luke reached for the car door. “Cousin Luke, what should I do? What do I need to do to continue to be happy?”
“What actually happened?” Luke asked impatiently.
Sarah’s tears kept flowing down her face. “Do you know why Trevor, despite being engaged with me for so many years, has never agreed to marriage? Do you know why we spend every day together yet behave as though we’re strangers? It’s because he doesn’t love me. He never did. I can never enter his heart because there’s someone in there–someone who has been giving him sleepless nights for all these years”
“A woman?” Luke sank into deep thought.
He vaguely remembered that there was such a girl once. The two broke up, and Trevor went overseas. However, he didn’t know the reason behind those events. He didn’t care either.
However, he was surprised to know that relationship had such a lasting impact on Trevor
Sarah looked at Luke’s look of disbelief and cried even harder. Yesterday, all it took was for him to think that he might have seen her to risk his life and chase after her. So many years have passed. This is such a big city… What are the chances that they’d simply run into each other?”
Camille, who was waiting for the bus on the other side of the road, was briefly stunned. She didn’t expect to see the CEO there. He really was omnipresent.
When she saw the woman beside him crying brokenheartedly, she suddenly felt all the strength sapped from her. She struggled to keep–holding the bags in her hand.
She boarded the bus, and the two silhouettes grew distant.
She had rested for two days at home. Friday finally arrived. She couldn’t wait to see her son.
Chapter 17
“Tll
Til pick Allen up today: Estelle Sawyer called her in advance, her car already headed toward the preschool
Camille was just about to leave the house. “Why are you going? Didn’t we agree that I’d be going?”
Estelle stopped at a red light. “Do you want to pick your precious son up with that wound on your face? Aren’t you worried that the teachers will think that you suffered domestic abuse?”
“Oh, right” Camille rubbed her forehead. She had forgotten about that.
“Scatterbrain, I’m hanging up for now. Go prepare a scrumptious dinner.” Estelle hung up.
Camille prepared to go to the supermarket to shop for food.
Estelle arrived at Allen’s preschool. The children hadn’t been dismissed yet.
Her cell phone rang. It was Helen’s landline.
Estelle picked up the phone. “Ms. Bronson, do you have any instructions for me?”
After Estelle’s father passed away, her mother gave them away to her friends and went to Termain with Helen, who was still married at the time.
It was all thanks to Helen that Estelle’s mother was able to get her son and daughter overseas and raise them Something was said on the other end. Estelle replied, “Alright. I can reach your house in about an hour.”
The gates of the school opened. Estelle called Camille hurriedly Camille, it looks like I can’t be home that early. I’m picking Allen first, The CEO’s mother has summoned me to discuss sorte important financial matters. That is all, bye.”
“Darling Allen!”
Estelle picked him up in her arms and smiled at the teachers. She then put him in the car.
The teachers wouldn’t allow anyone besides Camille, Estelle, and the Sawyer siblings to pick Allen up.
“Mommy Estelle, where’s my mommy?” Allen asked as he enjoyed a small ice cream that Estelle bought him.
“Your mommy’s face is injured, so she couldn’t come.” Estelle drove with a smile on her face.
Both she and her brother were very curious about the identity of Allen’s father.
If it was any of her other female friends, she would do all she could to find out. However, it was a different story when it came to Camille. She lived each day with a smile, but deep down she was suffering. It wasn’t easy to live with that kind of experience as soon as she became an adult. Her life had been rough.
Allen shuffled up against his seat With his childish voice, he asked, “Did mommy lose a fight against a baddie? She really knows how to make others worry”
“Uhm… Estelle turned and saw Allen sitting with the posture of a young master. She was even more curious about the identity of his father. The manner in which he carried himself was so natural, yet it bore zero resemblance to Camille.
