“Yes, Mr. Tyler.” It didn’t take long for Hans to gather a team and start scouring the university campus.
Meanwhile, Kieran had also led his team to the outskirts of Echo City University.
As Kieran stepped out of his car, he caught sight of Preston, who had gone inside Echo City University.
The sight of Preston darkened Kieran’s expression instantly.
Beside him, Jarrett remarked, “Mr. Sutton, why is Mr. Tyler here, too?”
They had spent much time tracking down Freya, whisked away in a sports car, vanishing without a trace upon entering Echo City University. But how could it have been a coincidence that Preston showed up there too?
“Let’s find out.”
Yes, Mr. Sutton.” Taking the lead, Jarrett and his team moved into Echo City University.
Freya had driven out from the back of the mountain and could already see several people waving flashlights ahead.
She immediately left the car and ran toward Preston, who was not far off.
Seeing Freya covered in mud, Preston frowned, “What happened to you? Why are you all messed up?”
“Never mind that… Leland, Leland is still…” Before Freya could finish her sentence, another car approached them rapidly.
Preston pulled Freya behind him protectively.
Leland and a few wealthy kids stepped out, their presence dimmed by the poor lighting on campus.
“Damn, you think you can play us?” one of the rich kids cursed, pointing at Preston. “Hand her over! Or you’ll regret it!*
In Echo City University, Leland and his cronies were practically untouchable. Even the faculty tread lightly around them.
Echo City University was a lower–tier institution, and Leland, struggling academically, could only secure admission through substantial donations from Johanna.
With few wealthy students, the school paled in comparison to Summit University, making Leland and his entourage the unofficial rulers. Used to having his way within these walls, Leland was infuriated to see someone standing up for Freya. He stepped forward, “Didn’t you hear me? Hand her over, or I’ll make you regret it!”
Preston, who had never been spoken to with such disrespect, smirked coldly, “Hans, what are you waiting for?”
“Yes, Mr. Tyler.”
At the mention of “Mr. Tyler,” the trio froze.
Hans stepped forward and snapped Leland’s index finger without giving them time to react.
Leland’s scream caught Kieran’s attention.
Kieran and Jarrett approached, and Kieran’s gaze immediately landed on Preston holding Freya’s arm. Instantly, Kieran’s expression darkened.
“Ouch! Let go! Let me go! Do you know who I am? I’m the future brother–in–law of the Sutton family! Release me!” In his panic, Leland attempted to leverage the Sutton family’s name, as Johanna had advised him to do in case of trouble.
Hearing this, Hans scoffed and tightened his grip.
“Wait.” Kieran’s voice reached Freya’s ears from a distance.
