Natalie took the tablet and glanced at it. As soon as she saw the woman, she felt a strange familiarity. She had seen her before–in her previous life–but not in this one.

Luna said, “Ms. Shawn, her name is Lucy, the executive president of Sky Journey Corporation. She’s one of Murray’s business partners. He met her in person and even signed a contract with her.”

Natalie closed her eyes. She thought, “That name sounded familiar, but she couldn’t immediately recall where she had heard it. The painful memories from her past life resurfaced vividly, frame by frame.

Frowning, she said, “Luna, I’ll sleep for an hour. Wake me up when the time’s up.” She needed a clearer head to think.

Luna, worried by Natalie’s pale complexion, tried to dissuade her. “Ms. Shawn, please don’t push yourself today. Look at your face–it’s paler than winter snow. If you go on like this, your body won’t hold up.”

Natalie smiled gently and shook her head. “Luna, you don’t understand. The best way to respect life is to spend every moment meaningfully. Time is short, and opportunities slip through our fingers. We shouldn’t waste the best years of our lives.”

Luna was momentarily at a loss for words. She thought Natalie was still suffering because of Easton. “Natalie,” she said, “There’s a remedy called forgetting. Let go of all sorrow and pain, and remember only the joyful moments of life.”

‘Easton is just one man among many. There are plenty of good men in the world. He’s not worth this,‘ Luna thought.

But Luna didn’t realize Natalie was no longer grieving over Easton. She just wanted to survive. Understanding Luna couldn’t grasp her emotions, Natalie took a deep breath and smiled softly

“Luna, all I want now is peace, a stable life, and smooth sailing. But life rarely grants us that–storms rise even without a breeze. Even if I divorce Easton and leave the Simpson family, those people won’t let me go.” With that, she closed her eyes.

Luna clenched her fists, she thought, “That vile woman, Jennifer, deserved to suffer!‘

An hour later, Natalie woke up on her own. After a quick nap and some medicine, she felt much better. She went to the bathroom, freshened up, and headed downstairs with Luna.

In the hotel lobby, Murray was already waiting. He had changed into a casual suit after returning, his dark hair thick and his charming eyes full of mischief–just a glance was enough to make someone fall for him.

Natalie smiled as she approached. “Mr. Spencer, right on time.”

Murray’s playful smile deepened. “When Natalie asks, how could I be late?”

Natalie didn’t waste any time on banter. She sent him the information on Lucy. “This is one of the companies that took your contracts. Let’s investigate her thoroughly. We need to find out everything about her. If Jennifer is behind her, it’ll all- become clear.”

Murray recognized the woman. “Lucy? I met her at a party once She’s only the president, though. No one knows who the real owner is.”

Natalie frowned. That name was still tugging at her memory.

Natalie and Murray spent an entire day and night investigating, finally uncovering some leads.

Early on the third morning, Murray accompanied Natalie back to Shagrity.

Natalie seized the opportunity and convinced James to collaborate with them.

At the airport, they went their separate ways to rest before attending Colin’s birthday banquet that evening.

At the same time, Easton also returned to Shagrity with Xavier.

When Easton arrived home, his first thought was that Natalie might have snuck in to steal the divorce papers. Frowning, he strode into the living room, only to see Jennifer sitting on the sofa. A flash of coldness crossed his eyes.

Jennifer was dressed elegantly in a pink evening gown, her delicate makeup enhancing her sweet and innocent look- designed to stir a man’s protective instincts.

Easton frowned. “Jennifer, what are you doing here?”

Jennifer looked at him with a wounded expression. “Easton, you said I could stay here. I’ve been living here while you were away because being here is the only thing that makes me feel safe.”

“Easton, we grew up together, and you once promised to marry me. A real man keeps his word. You can’t break your promise just because Natalie is sowing discord between us.” She approached him as she spoke.

She knew Easton had removed all her belongings from the house. He was beginning to suspect her, which was unacceptable. Everything the Garcia family, wealth, status–was within her reach. ‘How could she let someone like Easton, unloved by his parents, hold on to it all?‘ she thought.

Easton’s tall figure loomed as he moved closer, his eyes cold. “Jennifer, I’ve made it clear before. I won’t marry you. The one causing trouble between us has always been you.”

Jennifer’s breath hitched, and tears silently fell down her cheeks. “Easton, are you still the same person I knew? How could you betray the promises we made?”

“There were no promises, Jennifer.” Easton’s eyes darkened. “And as for the car accident from years ago, I’ll be reopening the investigation.”

Jennifer’s hands trembled slightly, and fear flickered in her eyes.

Unfortunately, Easton didn’t catch on to Jennifer’s strange behavior.

“Wasn’t that crash back then just an accident? Why are you investigating it now?” Jennifer asked cautiously, maintaining a gentle smile.

Easton didn’t say anything. Instead, he called Xavier.

“Mr. Garcia.”

“Get a cleaning crew here. I want the house thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.” Easton ended the call.

Jennifer stared at him in disbelief. Her carefully curated appearance meant nothing to him. No–what stung the most was that Easton now saw her as something dirty and unwelcome.

Tears streaming, she pleaded, “Easton, is this because of the video Natalie sent you? I swear, nothing happened between Zach and me! The video was fabricated! Why won’t you believe me?”

Easton narrowed his eyes. “I didn’t know about you, and Zach. How did you know there was a video?” His gaze bore into her.

Jennifer froze, her eyes darting nervously. She lowered her voice. “Natalie once threatened me with that video…” She trailed off, concealing her real intentions–tonight’s banquet was meant to ruin Natalie.
