Chapter 6
As soon as I mentioned him leaving with nothing, Lucy exploded. “Why should he? You can’t have children–you’re an incomplete woman! Marrying you already delayed me from having a grandchild, and now you dare to ask for my son’s money?”
y son. And if “I’m telling you, there’s no way. He can leave with nothing, but it’s “you“, not my you don’t agree to leave empty–handed, I’ll tell the whole world that you’re infertile, so even if you leave Jeffrey, you’ll never find another husband and will stay alone forever.”
I sneered, “Fine, then we won’t get divorced. Let’s just drag this out. After all, the labels of ‘mistress‘ and ‘illegitimate child‘ won’t be attached to me.”
Jeffrey looked at me, shocked, as if seeing me for the first time. “Rebecca, I never thought you’d be this kind of person. Is money really all you care about from our past relationship?”

It was obvious Jeffrey did
want to leave empty–handed. While his family was well–off, he
didn’t want to give up everything he’d worked so hard to build for years.
“Rebecca, I know you’re not someone who cares about money. Sylvia and I have a child now, and there are plenty of expenses…”
I cut him off impatiently, “Mm–hmm, then we won’t get divorced. But since you two have a child, that would technically be considered bigamy. I’ve got time to hire a lawyer and sue you both. Even if I don’t win, I can ruin your reputation. Think it over.”
After a moment of thought, Jeffrey finally nodded, “Fine!”
